His oldest daughter met a chap in England who was a police cadet (in the academy). Bobbies earned very little at the time (and I think they still do), so my FIL was very opposed to it was downright hostile to his daughters beau. She didn't take no for an answer and married the man. They are not well off even to this day (for instance: they never had a new car), but are still happy. They raised 2 kids, both who went on to college and got degrees. I suppose that by some people's book she should have instead married some type A big shot. Also, my FIL now admits that was very wrong in his initial attitude towards Mr. Bobby.
