Today you need specialized skills to have a middle class lifestyle. Being a hard working joe lunchpail is a ticket to poverty these days.

Kind of like Fonzie in Happy Days, he can't finish saying the phrase "I was wrong".

And NO they do not double peoples salaries in one year -- get real. Can people make careers at WalMart - sure, but most can not. Now if you are talking Costco, a completely different salary and employee structure, but Wal Mart is going to pass along increases each year if you are a solid employee...but double your salary - not on this planet --

NO, I do not agree that a municipality should dictate the salaries of companies that operate within their limits. I agree with Mayor Daley ( a democrat --gasp ! btw) - who overrode the city council with his veto power so that Wal Mart does not have to pay the $10/hr + $3hr benefits to start. Wal Mart will never build here otherise -nor will Target and Home Depot also put new stores on hold and having done motivational work in the areas that need a job- any job...as much as it pisses me off how WalMart abuses their workers -- some do actually survive there, so no I do not think a city should be able to control this... stunned huh ? I do think that people need to be aware of the abuses even more than they are and speak with their shopping habits to shop where they can get good deals and they treat people like human beings...the ONLY was to upset the mafia from bentonville is in the pocketbook

If you work at Wal Mart you can easily make 17 bucks an hour. If you work at Wal Mart for any amount of time you get raises. It's not tough to become a manager at Wal Mart and make enough money to support a family. You make it sound like Wal Mart is screwing all it's employees. Why?

Answer this without any spin -- BUSTED! And I said WalMart mistreats their employees - in many many documented court case losses they have made people work OT without paying them OT. Their benefits are considered sub standard by EVERYONE in the HR field which is also well documented in lawsuits. -- so tell me anywhere - and I mean ANYWHERE I have ever said they did not pay minimum wage or slightly more than minimum wage . Give me one quote from any thread. BUSTED AGAIN ! this is not blowhard talk radio my friend - this is the facts and only the facts. you were wrong on the salaries by a long shot, and you are wrong on saying I ever said they din't pay minimum wage or even $1 more -- get your facts straight. Now fess up on the 13-17 hour bull--- c'mon it won't hurt....

I think that is a good enough reason.
