As I pointed out in another post, not all attractions have to flog the whee out of you. Consider the roughly sixty-minute wait for the roughly sixty-second Peter Pan.

Peoplemover gave you a fascinating, bird's-eye view of Tomorrowland without running you up and over backstage areas like the Monorail does. The TRON tunnel was actually quite fun.

That "Go Go Goodyear" music really did it for me. Fit the attraction to a T and gave it a positive, upbeat feel. They were still playing that music in and around the restrooms by the Space Mountain exit until fairly recently.

I have to wonder whether or not they'll theme it like the Sub Voyage. Even so, wouldn't it be great to see something up on those tracks once again as you walk into a freshly redone Tomorrowland, less the bogus rocks and the Astro Orbiter blocking the view?

Done right, I think a new version could bring back those great excitement 'pangs' for a lot of people... especially children.

I just hope that if and/or when it gets moved that they see fit to retheme it to something other than that Jules Verne mish-mosh. PUHLEEZE lose that announcer while you're at it, Disneyland. There's a term that broadcasters use to describe that kind of delivery. I'm not sure I can repeat it here. :)

With lasers flying overhead and some explosions etc. In the Space Mountain area you could travel thru a black hole. They could actually enclose some more of the track over the autopia and create more show scenes.

Because the spaces are tight through some of the buildings ... what about using plasma or LED monitors (since they are thin) interlocked .. to create some "continuous" special effect (?).

I don't have a picture of that rendering, but I did prepare a diagram for a previous People Mover discussion board.

This has the track layout highlighted in red, over a blueprint of the 1967 Tomorrowland. One square equals 50 feet.

    Enjoy!

    *sigh*
I really do miss the old TL. As a child it was my favorite land, and now it is my least favorite.

Yes, it would be a bit redundant. It would also be rather popular with younger riders as opposed to the PM we all remember so fondly.

This may get really interesting after all.

The DL version feels much more open, and IMO futuristic. Of course they would probably need to update the original system to something more modern, or at the very least less bumpy, but it could definately be done so it is still interesting.

Here's a thought for the Disneyland planners: Theme the overall layout as a "ride of the future" like it once was. Not retro-future, but future-future. Limit the Incredibles to the tunnels, explaining that yes, you CAN be potentially entertained by a working mass transit system.

    It's a win-win.
