Also, I for one am very glad that the scarols are not present. In my opinion, the first year was the best presentation, and I highly prefer the more sedate outdoor area to the loud and obnoxious scarol outdoor area.

Also, the blacklight effect on the stretching portraits isn't exactly new, but it is more "extroverted" than in previous years. The mattes upon which the Nightmare portraits are painted have always been in blacklight, but were dimmer before.

Actually, I pretty much just liked Kidnap the Sandy Claws. That's my favorite song from the movie. I haven't been on HMH since the second year it was open, but I seem to remember that song playing throught the entire freaking ride. It actually got kind of annoying after a while - I had that song stuck in my head forever. In fact, it's still stuck in my head...that's how annoying it was. But I love that song. Does it still play so much inside the ride, or did they only get rid of it as a "scarol"?

I like it too. But my kids are far more muscially inclined than I am (they play instruments and sing), and they HATE it.

That probably explains why they don't like the HMH. Which surprised me as they really like the Nightmare Brefore Christmas. Other than Kidnap the Sandy Claws, they really like the other songs. They actually sing along to them, and they are teens!

Thanks DarkBeer for the info. There goes one of the great features of the HM fastpass.

It was cool, but since we didn't expect it, didn't listen to the whole thing until it happened, and then we realized that all the lights suddenly came on.

But i got a real kick the other day at the french market. i was sitting and eating lunch with my family and they were playing stuff you hear in the HMH but then also they started playing the soundtrack or at least parts of the soundtrack to the first year of the HMH and then started playing music to edward sisscorhands! i was pleasently suprised.

I think that part of it should be scarols (like the really boring switchback rea), and then as it gets closer to the house have it be the music box stuff. It sets the mood well, but it gets old after a very short ammount of time. I also prefer the original ride music, but I haven't seen the movie in a long time, so that may have something to do with it. I just think that the weaving of Carol of Bells with the Halloween stuff works really well, and makes for a much more dynamic sound than the current version that is fairly similar for the whole thing.

Then, having everyone try it out. Made for some fun times around the rivers when it was nice & quiet, then all of a sudden, a huge group scream came from the Haunted Mansion area. Caught many by surprise, & made them go & check it out.

In the same area, I also liked how they took a shot at small world with the musical que to scream. To my surprise, many people participated in that scream too.
