I hear ya on that. They'll be boiled down to the best zingers and gaffes by morning.

    Romney: 26.5 drinks

Obviously, I didn't adhere to the rules, as I'd no longer be here to type this message. And, those scores are like golf: the lower the better.

Seriously, as far as the debate overall, I thought that Obama got off to a slow start. By the end, I'd call it a tie. Each got their message across, and I'm not sure how much traction they got in taking apart their opponent. Unfortunately for Romney, tie goes to Obama, based on the polling data going into the debate. One debate down, two go at the presidential level.

In the "zinger" department, I did see one obvious attempt by Romney: "As President, you're entitled to your own house, an own airplane, but not your own facts." This was inserted toward the end, was rushed, and it seemed to me to be a clear usage of a rehearsed zinger. I think it fell flat: it didn't have the effect it was designed to have, but I also think it went completely unnoticed except for those of us on the lookout for zingers, so it had no negative effect.

I think when Romney made that zinger, it was one of his weaker moments. I called it, "Time to throw everything on the wall." It's exactly the type of fakeness that Romney needs to avoid.

See, this is interesting. Following social media and punditry, the universal agreement is that Obama is now a smoking crater and Romney made Reagan look like Quayle.

I don't think it was quite that bad, but I was a bit surprised at how many openings the President passed by, because Romney sure didn't.

Oh, and Romney's a freaking liar. Obama went for nuance, Romney for style.

As a voter in a swing state (CO) I've heard all the 'talking points' and 'zingers' Romney tried to insert.

It worked with the base and maybe nationally but it will not work in the swing states.

That is all that matters now.
