He's the great-great-grandson of the guy they call the Paul of Mormonism. The Pratt and Romney names run through Mormon history like the Chase and Roosevelt names run through American history. His name endows him with privilege. There is nothing in this man's history that shows that he has any kind of a spine or moral center. His own party describes him as a liar, as a flip-flopper, as unelectable. I can understand if you are voting against Obama. That would at least be a position. But voting in favor of Romney when Romney himself has never taken a firm stand on anything in his entire life just doesn't make sense.

I think he does your faith a disservice in the way he's all over the map -- "severe conservative" to one audience, a much more centrist tone later down the road. Support him for his politics, if you believe in his policies (ever-changing and difficult to pinpoint as they may be.) But please, out of respect for your faith and you church, stop attaching those values to him, because I don't think you value lies and half-truths. If he is a severe conservative, he's lying by pretending to be moderate. If he is truly a moderate, he's lying to the far right by claiming to be one of them. He does not seem to be "walking the walk."

I am just confounded that you would talk about his "values" when no one knows what they really are. It's kind of like saying you like his "decisiveness" when he waffles constantly. Darn. Now I want waffles.

That is why he will work to open new markets for American goods and services, while also confronting nations like China that cheat on trade and steal American jobs." So Mitt claims that China is "stealing American jobs." Question: Did China "steal" the Sensata factory jobs that Bain Capital is in the process of outsourcing? Romney is a hypocrite, Josh. Romney is still the single largest shareholder of Bain Capital. Bain Capital is still the single largest shareholder of Sensata. Romney has continuously refused over and over and over again to meet with the Sensata factory workers in Freeport, Illinois about their jobs being sent overseas to CHINA. Romney knows all about the closing the Sensata factory before the end of this year. Yet he refuses to discuss it with anyone. Does he believe, as the single largest shareholder of Bain Capital, that China is "stealing" those Sensata jobs? Of course not! Mitt is fully and completely compliant in the "theft" of American jobs by Asian countries like China. And he hasn't done a single damned thing to prevent the "theft" of American jobs where he has a direct stake in the ownership of the company that is 'losing' those jobs to offshore facilities! If Romney cannot or will not intervene to prevent the loss of American jobs where he has direct influence... why the hell would anyone ever expect him to prevent the loss of American jobs where he doesn't? You need to wake the F up, Josh, and start acknowledging the *real* Mitt Romney. Not the *fake* Mitt Romney.
