I buy American when I can, but the hell of it is that you CAN'T always any more. That wasn't my decision - it was the decision of people who decided to offshore US jobs... or who profited handsomely by either taking over US companies who then offshored, or who invested in foreign companies who poached US jobs. "

In addition to this, please don't fault the average person making their $12 bucks an hour for purchasing the most affordable option rather than something that was made in the US.

That's so unfair. It's hard enough making ends meet for most people in this country without also accusing them of not doing the right thing by buying American made products.

There virtually are no American made computers left, and if there are still some left, they certainly aren't available at affordable prices within easy availability to the majority of people.

People who have the power in this country do everything to screw American workers out of jobs, and now as a result American made products are either non exist or only sold at higher prices and/or only at stores most people can't afford to shop at, so it's up to people who can't afford decent health care to buck up and fix the problem that their rich "leaders" created and shell out the extra money for every product they buy?

    F that.

I didn't accuse anyone of that, and trust me, I'm sympathetic. All I said was that I'll buy American if I can.

That's why my doctor recommended I stay out of WE. Not good for the blood pressure.

And the sad truth of the matter is that there really is no viable way to reverse this. Can you imagine the outrage if Congress tried to pass laws to stop Walmart from importing all those cheap products from China? Prices would skyrocket - and people would be furious. Same goes for the large companies that outsource jobs. They've gotten used to the huge profits they make by outsourcing - there's no way they'd take any changes to that without a fight.

Honestly, I just don't see any easy way out of the mess we've made. Like it or not, we're now all competing on a global stage - and America needs to find a way to fit into that economy. Hopefully in a way that allows our citizens to still maintain the lifestyle we've all become accustomed to - but that's going to take a lot of work on our part.

    I'm sick of that canard.

Why is it OK for China (and other countries) to demand that foreign companies must set up factories in China if they want to sell their products there (automobiles come to mind) but unless we keep our markets wide open to all imports and run HUGE trade deficits the world will somehow come to an end?

Why are you now claiming you where unaware of this? Did you not know that this site has a search feature, so that anyone could look and see that you are mistaken, or being misleading?

Is that someone you? Or do you get all your information from dubious left wing sources?

More, "I know you are but what am I" type responses. In fact, that's your whole post. (I hope I can be forgiven for not remembering that there was a thread three years ago that briefly mentioned Obama's school records.)

So, just to be clear, we're still at square one: Mitt Romney won't release his taxes or his records involving off-shore accounts, or those to clear up his time at Bain. There apparently is no response to this, other than obfuscation by bringing up Obama. Noted.

Do you ever respond with anything other than a question? Can you write a direct statement? What do you think?
