F that.

Can you imagine the outrage if Congress tried to pass laws to stop Walmart from importing all those cheap products from China? Prices would skyrocket - and people would be furious. Same goes for the large companies that outsource jobs. They've gotten used to the huge profits they make by outsourcing - there's no way they'd take any changes to that without a fight. Honestly, I just don't see any easy way out of the mess we've made. Like it or not, we're now all competing on a global stage - and America needs to find a way to fit into that economy. Hopefully in a way that allows our citizens to still maintain the lifestyle we've all become accustomed to - but that's going to take a lot of work on our part.

Why is it OK for China (and other countries) to demand that foreign companies must set up factories in China if they want to sell their products there (automobiles come to mind) but unless we keep our markets wide open to all imports and run HUGE trade deficits the world will somehow come to an end?
