At Disneyland, there used to be areas that were quaint, quiet and dare I say, relaxing. The Hungry Bear Restaurant [pre-Splash Mountain years] was one of those locations. I used to buy my lunch, sit by the Rivers of America, watch the ducks, see the various watercraft float by. It was nice. I have found that in more recent years, the restaurant and surrounding patio areas have become more congested and hectic. It really doesn't invite you to sit and hang out. Like everything else, it's more about 'get in, get out go do something' The Golden Vine Winery at DCA sort of captures that more relaxed vibe that used to be at Hungry Bear. <It is built for tourists to enjoy, not for me to enjoy as a place to read a good book. That's not its purpose.> Again, I would disagree. If someone wants to go to World Showcase, grab a beer and sit down by the World Showcase Lagoon and read a book, that is certainly the 'purpose' of the park for that particular guest. That relaxed experience provides just as much of a 'purpose' as the insane groups of families who schedulize every moment of their trips and run from ride to ride to ride. That frantic hyper-activity is not the way I 'roll' at a Disney theme park, but it's certainly 'a purpose' of the park if that's the way someone wants to 'use' it. Different strokes for different folks. But I wouldn't dare say that the way I enjoy a theme park is 'the' way to enjoy it. Or that's the way it is 'meant' to be enjoyed.

The only problem I see in WS was that the parade seemed to be a tight fit.

I wish they'd started the process of adding a "second layer" to the attractions already in place, instead of ripping and tearing. In that way, they could have had Test Track as an ADD-ON to the World of Motion attraction, and same with Mission:Space (both thrill rides somewhat related to the original, informational attraction...perfect compliments really). The sad thing is, assuming you would be "forced" to ride the first attraction in order to board the second, that could have created a huge amount of foot traffic for both original attractions (heck, the boat ride in the Land is busy now, and noone even "has" to ride it!). How much cooler would that have been!? With Horizons, they could've gone even a step further and had Mission:Space be only 1/3rd of the thrill option (Undersea and the desert deal being the other two), where once you get your "preview" of the thrill ride, out pops your "tickets" (easily changeable) for the next adventure. Ugh...the possibilities. And along the same lines, it would be easy enough for them to come up with some stuff behind what already exists in World Showcase, whether it be thrills, Disney classic types, or immersive attractions such as a river which runs all around the back and takes you through the countries from a different perspective.

And using this as proof that people don't want attractions in WS Well, no, its because for he most part the ones there suck. Malstrom is the best one and it's lame.
