Meanwhile I'll be riding down the icy slopes of The Matterhorn in Disneyland! And just for the record, Sleeping Beauty's Castle looks just fine to me, especially at night when it's lit up and there's fireworks going off behind it!

I know some native Californians are sensitive about this issue. I'm not trying to offend them.

Is there a clock tower at DCA?

So true, but what the MK has that none of those other parks does, or ever will, is a 15 minute monorail ride to EPCOT!!! At least when I get tired of the mess that is the MK, I can always escape to EPCOT. I can't do that at Disneyland!! (And believe me, there have been many trips to DL where I remember wishing I could head out to EPCOT for a break instead of to DCA.)

jonvn, I disagree. The only attraction done better IMHO is Splash Mountain. Yes, the set ups outside are nice on PotC and HM. But overall at DL I prefer - Tiki Room, JC Skippers (though the temple at WDW is cool), PotC, BTMRR, Mark Twain, HM, IASW, the Fantasyland Dark Rides, Dumbo, Autopia, Toontown, Space Mountain, Buzz, and the view from the train.

I mean, it works there really well.

Pirates, the ride is a tiny bit shorter, but the line for the thing? really much better. Big Thunder is also better. Certainly Astro Orbiter is better in TL, because it's on top of the peoplemover, which is also better because it actually is functioning.

    And so on.

What is not better? Um, Fantasyland is a bit of a mix between old Fantasyland in Disneyland and New Fantasyland. It's ok, but DL is better. But Small World, with the water that goes to the edge of the displays? Better there.

Haunted Mansion is actually better there. The building is far more interesting, and it has a couple scenes not in the one here. But it does not have the hallway.

Toon Town is better than the one in MK.

The layout of things is better in DL. But individually each thing is done a bit better there than in anaheim...

What offensive movie clips are you talking about? Do you mean the blanket/sombrero/maraca ect. vendors who follow the boats from scene to scene pleading for a sale?

    "creppy marionettes"

Did you mean "crappy" or "creepy"?

I'm not sure I have a preference in Splash or Thunder Mountains, I just prefer our Space Mountain.

However, I love the new additions to the Haunted Mansion.

But - I get bored fairly quickly at the MK (though I am glad we still have the Wedway People Mover). It's just not a park I go into much. I spend most of my park time at Epcot, though I really like AK as well. Our MK just doesn't have the charm of Disneyland (IMHO).

I met an Australian man in Miami who asked where we were heading onto next; I said WDW and he asked how long we were going for. I said 7 nights and he smiled and said "you're in the know - we weren't and only had one day there". I can't imagine how frustrating it would be to go to WDW for only one day! Especially living so far from it - they might never travel over there again.

It's easy for people who go every weekend or a few times per year to not care if they miss something or stuff up their plans.

For an Australian it is a HUGE expense and, from where I am from a 26 hour flight JUST TO LA. I was DAMNED SURE my time at WDW/Uni/SW/KSC(23 nights)was going to be AWESOME.
