We didn't know whether to cancel our plans tonight to be with the family, but Pat would have wanted us to spend time on the kids. So we all got dressed up in our finest goth gear. Mikey was Jack Skellington, Daddy as Phantom Manor's Phantom, Jess as Stitch and Mama as a witch of sorts. Mama and Jess gave out candy while Mikey and I trick or treated and got some swell swag. Then on to a Halloween party with all the neighbourhood kids. Mikey fell a sleep in my arms as I washed his make up off. In some ways, this was the most fitting tribute. Pat wanted to live life to the full, and she did. Tonight was my first trick or treating experience with the kids. In past years I have been too busy working. Tonight I made time for the family, and I am so glad I did. Life is a blessing and a gift. And we are blessed to call this community our friendship group. Thanks guys.
