It meant that our government was "getting into bed" with a known tyrant and murderer. Why? Because wanted to use him in our efforts to suppress iran, and weren't too picky about who we aligned with.

Later, when it was convenient for their own political purposes, the GOP cried foul about saddam over issues that happened before they decided to support him. And he was tried on murders that occured before we aligned with him.

This is self serving moral relativism, plain and simple.

No, I posted it to show you what Catholics believe purgatory IS. Until one gets there one cannot KNOW for certain that heaven or hell exist...we accept these things by faith. Of course, by then, it's too late to make any choices regarding the matter and since without faith it is impossible to please God...

Since I am a Christian, my authority has been the Bible. The Bible speaks in roundabout terms of a third state that is neither heaven or hell...a place where we suffer loss but are saved but as through fire. As a Catholic, I also accept the teaching authority of the Church and Apostolic Tradition. Both of those sources speak of purgatory where souls are purged throug fire in preparation for eternal happiness in heaven.

That's because she knows that she will get out of there. She has the sure hope of heaven. Purgatory is temporal, not eternal.

Funny how it's nothing when the US meets with Saddam yet when bin Laden did meets with Saddam, it means that they were working hand in hand against the US together.

AWSOME. My deathbed confession plan is getting easier all the time!

I don't even have to be sorry cause the things I did were BAD, I just have to be "sorry" because hell is scary.

I love it. 1 ticket to heaven please.

We sold him weapons, and we sold Iran weapons. Our "aid" to Saddam was fairly minor, when compared to others. We "aided" Kim Jong Il during the 1990's. Again, it doesn't mean we sanctioned or condoned any of his actions.

It was rhetorical, and my additional questions clearly indicate that I believe it other than what you think.

Saddam and bin Laden never met.

    How convenient.

Of course it does. Just because you don't like to admit it doesn't make it any less true.
