But a poisonous political atmosphere in which those we disagree with are seen as un-American or the enemy and need to be "taken out?" Yes. And Palin has contributed more than her share to that. "But when we start trying to silence people because of their words...like them or not...I think you are heading down a very slippery slope." Now there's some tasty hyperbole right there! No one's talking about silencing Palin or anyone else. Some of us are saying that overheated and charged rhetoric coupled with poisonous political discourse had consequences. And those in public life can continue to behave irresponsibly--that's freedom of speech- but woildnt it be nice if the discourse got more civil and less demonizing?

And that DOES scare me, because he's the only right wing candidate that I think can go toe to toe with Obama and possibly win. The rest of them are a joke. So, if Romney can survive the primaries, he has a good shot imho. But who really knows WHAT will happen, right?

She's decided against it, but realizes that LOOKING like she could be, and all the "will she or won't she" speculation that fuels, keeps her in the public eye and benefits her pocketbook, ultimately.

Not in 2012. I'd be willing to wager on it in fact. The Bush family knows what's what, and even now the Republicans are continuing to slam Bush Jr. and trying to paper over that 8 year administration as an aberration. His hat in the ring would only tarnish the Bush name right now, and they're not that stupid. I would say it more likely we'll see Palin jump in than Jeb, THIS time. Now, in 2016 or 2020, that's a different story altogether. I'm pretty sure he'll go for it at some point, but only if he thinks he's got a good shot at winning. In 2012, he doesn't even have a chance of getting out of the primaries and he'd get the crap beaten out of him if he even tried.
