The idea that there shouldn't necessarilly be two attractions for one film in such close proximity seems silly to me. At DL we have Casey jr. and Dumbo, both from the same film. There are teacups and a charming Mad Hatter themed shop, right next door to Alice's own ride through. No one has ever complained that there's "too much Alice!" I would rather see a charming grotto or stately hall built down at that dreary corner where the Skyway has been shuttered for so many years. This would also make a great spot for families with kids who aren't ready for Haunted Mansion to send the younger kids off with one parent to meet the princesses.

It will instantly become another revenue maker with photos to sell and adjacent gift shops to sell more princess stuff. And if you think a Rapunzel/Tangled ride will move in there, I suppose it could someday. But it took more than 22 years for Ariel to finally get a ride built for her! Nope, this space will forever be a m&g/retail area. I agree with DlandDug. Why can't the princesses occupy the space where the Skyway station once was and use the SWSA area for another C-Ticket dark ride??? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the new Seven Dwarf Mine coaster. It sounds like a great addition. I just hate the thought of losing one ride for another. It just amazes me that Disneyland's FL can have FIVE "C"-Ticket dark rides in such a tight area (plus two more elsewhere in the park with Pooh and Roger Rabbit), while the Magic Kingdom, with all the space that WDW can provide, will now be down to a meer two. Where's the added attractions and capacity that are sorely needed???

Even with these great new additions (Little Mermaid, Mine Coaster, B&B area,), Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland is still just a pale comparison to what is in Anaheim. And the circus area looks bare. Hopefully something new will appear there. If anything is truly tired and stale in this whol FL redo is the circus tents leftover from Mickey's Birthdayland/Starland/Toontown Fair. They were only supposed to be temporary back in 1988. If anything should go away over a dark ride are those #@&*% tents!!!

Especially since it seems that Disney will be installing more meet and greets into the Studios.

For one, why can't there be two rides based on Snow White? And if SWSA must go, why can't it be rethemed into another dark ride (ala Toad into Pooh)??? The Magic Kingdom needs MORE rides, not the status quo, to meet capacity and to attract more attendance. There's plenty of unsused space elsewhere to put the princesses...

Originally Posted By oc_dean >>Think if we protest hard enough to save this beloved original Fantasyland attraction from being removed, we'll be heard??<< A few key notes - * Too little is known on the Mine Train to be calling it a worthy replacement and an improvement on the current dark ride. * One such rumor says the mine train will be 1/3rd indoor .... 2/3rds outdoors. Places where the "eye candy" would look best would be in enclosed "controlled lighting" sections of the ride. If there are enough "dark ride" rooms along the mine train's path .... then the loss of the dark ride won't be so bad at all. But if it's going to be a lightly themed mine train, with one piddly dark-room scene that last less than 20 seconds .... then the loss of the 3 minute dark ride would be felt. I remember it being a bit better than DL's version. DL's cuts off too soon, with the witch falling. But if memory serves ... I think WDW's version was a more "complete" version. If it goes .. from what I've heard ... it won't be till around 2012? Is that right? Here's at least one vote, that TDO does not cheap out, and convert one of Fantasyland's few dark ride facilities into some cheap Meet & Greet. If anything .... there's a mall "quality" along that stretch or "flank" off from Cinderella's castle. If they really want to emphasis a cheap quality along that "mall/sh" flank .. throw in some princesses like it's a retail front. That will really emphasis this stretch of Fantasyland to be reminiscent of a retail mall. TDO will really succeed with that one! My hunch is .. they are being really tight on the budget. Rather than some poster's better idea .. by using the space where Skyway was. Seems cheaper to just gut Snow White .. doesn't it?! I hope someone will be "the wiser" and come up with Revision Number 3, to this so-called "Fantasyland Expansion".
