She simply said honey mustard had been discontinued. We'd like to believe she was entirely mistaken, of course.

If the bar-b-que sauce isn't as good, and the chicken nuggets aren't as good, and you can't get honey mustard any more, and you can't get ranch dressing for your salad your enjoyment of the over all experience at the park has taken a hit. It's all the little things that add up to the complete Disney day at the park.>> Yes. That is the fact that has gotten lost under the current Disney corporate management mindset. The one started by Eisner and Pressler and their consultants in the mid-90s. Sure, it reached its nadir in the 2001-2004 timeframe and things, when looked at it in the big picture, have since improved in many areas. But the mindset remains under Bob Iger much like it had been under Michael. So while DL recently rasied the price of a one day ticket to $69 and a one-day hopper to an astounding $94, their new VP (Michael O'Grattan) apparently can't find room in the budget to replace the lightbulbs that ring the ticket booth (14? I think) closest to DCA ... or on the entrance marquee/sign for DD as you enter/exit the park esplanade (so many lights were out this week, I thought they should just shut the sign off for better show!) Yeah, I digressed from the old sauce (and boy could I use some now ... drum roll!) but it IS the small things that people notice. I still remember when (over a decade ago now) Disney decided to cut half the meat in the turkey sandwich at Columbia Harbor House and stop serving cole slaw with it (later they took the chips away as well) all while RAISING the price. Just like I remember when in 1996 Disney decided to no longer include soup or salad with dinner entrees ... and a few years later when lunch entrees started to approach dinner prices. None of these moves exceeded my expectations as a guest. They all further diminished my magical WDW vacations. WDW/DL fancy themselves as elite/premium products. But if you talk the talk and price the price you've got to walk the walk ... not hire consultants and money men who consistently try and WalMart the product under the guise that people who frequent the parks and resorts are mindless (well, the Palin lovers may be) 'magic lovers.' Anyway ... just a few spirited thoughts. And glad to see you have made it through Ike, MPierce. I was thinking about you when I saw where the storm was headed (although quite pleased it stayed away from SoFla!)

The sad thing is, many are. this is why I often get hate mail from some of the folks on the net when I critique Disney. But sadly it ostricises a large demo who go and fell ripped off, then opt for the Caribbean or Hawaii instead. The current diretion of travel is not sustainable.
