She may be refreshing and come from a wonderful town ... I've been to Wasilla, I'd love to go back ... but that doesn't make her fit to be anywhere near the White House. She has zero experience in anything significant on a national level, let alone international. I read somewhere that she didn't have a passport until a year ago (no, not a Disney one). She was placed on the ticket instead of someone more moderate like Romney or even Joe Lieberman because she appeals to many folks in the heartland who only vote based on one (usually very insignificant TO ME) issue. These people only care that she loves fetsuses (for example) and they are quite quick to explain away her daughter not knowing that boys' toys come loaded or her being exorcised or even the fact she looked like an incompetent baffoon with Katie Couric (and that says something).

Joe Biden -- who would make a better president than either candidate -- needs to be careful he doesn't savage her too badly or she'll get the sympathy supporters. (I do expect that right now he handlers are writing 3-4 signature lines for her to deliver to distract viewers from the fact she has nothing to offer).

<<I love a good scrap about politics, religion or any other subject.>>

Me too. But I like to debate anything/everything! Like Disney.

<<I do agree that they belong somewhere else though. Good sound advice as always from Nikki, and bobbelee.>>

Probably World Events, but that place is very scary ... and it makes me realize that all members of the LP community aren't ... well ... uhm ... ah ... playing with a half deck let alone a full one.

<<Now spit out your gum SPIRIT, and sit up straight!>>

Actually, I got a stern look from a HKDL CM who saw me chewing gum on Main Street (really!) and I actually liked that since we all know what the MK pavement looks like thanks to pigs chewing.

Absolutely. So long as they worship me, they are free to believe whatever they want. They can even choose to like Jay Rasulo (although they will get lashed for that!)

<<I disagree with Spirit on several issues, politics is just one of them. I have a very high respect for his opinions on any matter.>>

Thanks. And right back at you on the respect meter.

<<I've never felt I needed to look at a clone of my beliefs, and opinions to find a friend. I would never consider anything you say to me as an attack bobbelee. You're just not that way, and I know it.>>

Nah. I've always pictured her as speaking with a strong NE accent, which I don't hold against her since my relatives tahwk that way too ... but very even-keeled and intelligent with lots of common sense. Perhaps a bit too high on WDW, but there's nothing wrong with that!

I don't believe that, Nikki, but I am curious here ... what would you do if some kid pointed out all the liars and cheaters who are running our government (into the ground) now and making things up as they go asked 'they don't follow the rules and that seems to be perfectly OK with most adults, so why should we?'

And I'll fly to New Orleans period, if you'll keep refilling my 1997 Dixie Landings mug with libations of an alcoholic nature while singing Disney showtunes! ;-)

First off, my kids are only 10-11 years old and don't think that deeply. Most are barely aware that we have an election this year-I have a whole bulletin board dedicated to the presidential election, and I had kids walk in my room the first day of school and ask me what that was. My biggest problem is having one student pay another $80 for a used WWE action figure (it happened on Friday afternoon).

If by some miracle that issue ever did come up, I would tell my kids that there are people who care about this country, and those adults that don't follow the rules are damaging this country and adversely affecting the lives of millions of Americans as a result. That is one of the reasons we have rules. Just because a rule isn't being enforced doesn't mean that it shouldn't be followed - it's been established not only to protect your neighbors, but you and your family as well.

However, instead of getting deep with my kids I would tell them plainly and simply that when they don't follow my rules they adversely affect the education of their classmates, so they will be punished. In my classroom, the rules are always enforced.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that this Sarah Palin person had something to do with it! Her and her nasty budget cuts!!

If this is true, it might explain why he's so much against Honey Mustard. If he was really born in some foreign country, his taste for Honey Mustard wouldn't have had a chance to develop!)

You really don't mean that her daughter getting pregnant has any bearing on her ability to be second in command..I think you underestimate her service to the people of Alaska in an Executive position. Did you take a large portion of your post 61 from the talking points of a left wing blog?:)
Frankly I can't believe you don't admire her for being the Governor of Alaska with an 80% approval record. Alaskans are know for their independant, and strog willed nature. She took on the Good Old Boy Republicam establishment, and beat them. She took on the Big oil interest in Alaska. I could go on, and on about her accomplishments, I've got my right wing talking points in front of me also.:)
Only time will tell how this all turns out. The only thing for sure is that we have different opinions on this matter. Imagine that.

I'm with you there on the ridiculousness of our country at the moment. Neither candidate is really any good, unfortunately.

I think that its crazy that WDW has gotten to the point that they are crazy about BBQ sauce. Maybe it is a seasonal kind of thing and we'll get the good stuff back when the crowds come back...

In a Republic we have elected officials who supposedly represent the people. These elected officals are sometimes refered to as clowns.
