Autopia requires a lot of manpower to operate it, and isn't exactly futuristic. I think it could easily be replaced with something with a greater capacity to operating crew ratio.

An argument can be made that Star Wars already has a greater presence in Disney parks than Cars does. Amongst the six US Disney parks, there are only 3 Cars themed attractions. Star Wars has two rides and two shows. I think it's quite likely that Star Wars will get more attractions, but they'll be spread amongst the parks, like Toy Story, rather than consolidated in one land in one park, like Cars.

Sure if they add anything new, most of us will go check it out at some point, but if they do Star Wars right at the DLR, imagine all the people that might not have been interested in visiting DLR before who will HAVE to go see it. Maybe semi-regularly.

Great idea! People always complain the princesses make the parks too little girl focused. Perfect opportunity to even out the appeal!

But we are specifically talking about the rumored SW additions at DL, not SW in the parks globally.

I'm confused. What cars? Real cars? Driving in the park?

There could be different themes each parade. One month it might be cars of the 50's, another month import tuners, another month low riders, and so on.

In that case, I don't agree with your statement. Just because Star Wars is a valuable and beloved franchise doesn't mean its presence at DLR needs to be at least as big as Cars is. DCA needed something like Carsland to greatly increase attendance. DLR doesn't need a big Star Wars land to greatly increase attendance, because it currently doesn't need to greatly increase attendance.

DHS, on the other hand, does.

I never said it "needs" to be. I'm simply opining that as a business Disney would be pretty stupid to not leverage their $4 billion purchase Lucasfilm with a big SW investment at its flagship theme park resort. I think most people would agree.
