The Innoventions spot (combined with other property nearby) seems the most logical spot for Star Wars, as most of us agree.

From a business standpoint though WDW and DLR are both legitimate locations for major SW expansions. I don't see it as a competition between the two resorts for SW, and I assume that both sites will get big SW additions sooner rather than later. "All they would accomplish by introducing a significant Star Wars land in Disneyland is to make a marginal guest experience even worse." That's never stopped them before.

It would definitely fit with the California car culture, though they don't seem to keep as strictly to the California theme as they did in the past. DLR already has a relationship with local car clubs who show up in support of the runDisney events (where they are on both sides of the course for over a mile), so I'm sure they could use their contacts there to get something started: http://www.laughingplace.com/w...Cars.jpg That said, I'm not sure Disney would want the liability of all those people driving through the park. What if something were to go wrong, and one of them drove into a crowd of guests? More likely, we'd see something like the old Stars and Motor Cars "parade" (cavalcade, really) from WDW that's since been moved to DLP: http://wdwent.com/st/photos/aladdin.jpg

I know there's some serious diehard Star Wars fans among the LP community here (I'm one of them myself) ... but I just have to remind everyone ... We've been through Star Wars rumors already. You know the one. The one Miceage INSISTED was happening well over a year ago, that Innoventions, Subs, Autopia would go to some Speeder Bike ride through an Endor forest, with an Ewok village. Millinium Falcon perched in the center where the Observatron currently sits, Tie and X-Wing fighter Astro Orbitor on top of the Magic Eye Theater's roof. (Never mind the fact it would have ruined a clear shot of Space Mountain, and messing up it's force perspective as a "larger than life" structure.) Nothing became of that rumor. And quietly went away. Miceage even, later, admitted it was off the table (or they just knew it was never a consideration, and trying to save face!) Then Iger later said he has bigger ideas where that franchise is concerned. So, okay .... lets admit something - It's 'Wishful Thinking' some want Tomorrowland to become one hell of a large Star Wars land. There's no confirmation of it. Not even a semi one. Or even a hint. But hey ... Disney is one big Franchise Machine now, more than ever. I look at those construction walls surrounding Innoventions, and maybe the Star Wars fans will have their day. AND MAYBE NOT. We are now 3 years away from the last major project - Carsland/Buena Vista Street. It can't much longer that Disney finally makes an announcement for DLR's next big project. My only hunch, Innoventions will get something minor, and re-open .. while TL gets put off (still!) for another time, and some other location of the DLR gets the next big ticket item. <-- getting curiouser and curiouser.

I expect it will be a very interesting time!

That's where MiceAge is INSISTING that a Star Wars land will go now at the Disneyland Resort - even though you yourself said that there is no hint of this happening, much less a confirmation. That probably won't happen until D23 this August, as everyone claims. In any case, and I know I've said this many times before, but I hope that Toontown does not go away for Star Wars, for many reasons that I won't elaborate on right now, because I know we've said them many times before.

At this point, I don't think we'll know much of anything until official announcements are made; even if there are Star Wars announcements at D23, I suspect they'll only talk about WDW and not DLR, since the Studios needs so much work right now

Unfortunately, as you say, stuff like crazy wackos have to be considered and sadly, a car parade would not happen.

Thus, I take that to mean that there will be other parks involved besides the Studios. As others have pointed out, it would be stupid not to have the Disneyland Resort involved in some way here.

Retheming bathrooms to a Star Wars theme and adding Star Wars items to a restaurant menu would easily qualify for a "bigger . . . presence" the way things are done at Disneyland these days. And 3 years from the last "major" project? Try getting Burbank to admit that a new WofC show and a copied parade are anything less than SUPER-DUPER MAJOR PROJECTS.
Originally Posted By FerretAfros >>Seems like a car parade would be a crowd control nightmare. Major walkways would need to be closed before, during, and a bit after the parade to prepare. A little Yoda figurine will make the Peter Pan kids fly using the force. And there's your bigger Star Wars presence.
