Think of all the fun things you can do with little niece or nephew when baby is old enough to subvert to your fun ways! Oh, it looks like you'll be a first time uncle about the time I'll be a second time auntie (it's a fun job, I promise you). Woo hoo!

Try becoming a GREAT aunt (like I did) at age 36, though -- sheesh! That's what happens when you have a nephew who's just 3 years younger than you are. There are still some days when I can't believe I'm anyone's MOM. It just seems impossible! I was a kid myself, just, oh.... 2 or 3 years ago. LOL Hey! Now you have a reason to go out and buy another copy of Monster at the End of this Book! ;-)

(course he'd have to be a nephew, lol) It's settled in a lot more now. But last night when I kept seein' "Uncle Byron" typed out in black and white over and over it started makin' feelin' all weird and surreal again, lol. Just a big life change that I'll be gettin' used to...it's funny, I always thought that a death in the family would be the first family thing to send me reelin', not a birth, lol (haven't had a close death yet). So now most of the weirdness-OMG-I-can't-believe-this phase has worn off, and I'm REALLY lookin' forward to bein' Fun, Cool Uncle Byron! :-D Least I hope that's what my nephew/niece'll think of me as, lol. I'll just have to explain which toys are "toys" and which toys are "collectibles", and not lose my inherited-from-Dad temper if there's a mix-up...*gulp*...I have 2 cousins 7 and 8 years younger and I remember from when I was around them in their younger years you really gotta watch 'em, lol. But the kid is gonna have a great, fun, loving life. He/she's gonna have terrific parents, and my sister's a lot like me in her interests and "toys", so there will be PLENNNNNNTY of vintage Disney and Muppets and '70s/'80s children's entertainment stuff around. Okay, a couple of days has been enough, I'm ready for the arrival now! But I don't think my sister is quite yet, LOL. Uncle Donald, Uncle Scrooge, Uncle Kermit---Uncle Byron!

Just wait until he/she is old enough for sleepovers. We could hold transatlantic Muppetfests with our neices/nephews. Emerson and I finally got to watch Muppets at WDW last night thanks to you! As someone without children I can't tell you how wonderful it is having neices and nephews to spoil. And while I don't want to single him out if you're really lucky you'll get the same kind of relationship with your neice/nephew as I have with Emerson. Regardless of any family ties he is one of my best friends. He just happens to be 18 years younger than me. Oh, and by the way you are MUCH older than me, that 2 months makes a big difference!!!

In suits and things with proper jobs and everything and then I realise I'm the same as them and that must be how I look, but really I'm still 17. In my head that's how I look and how I feel.
