Hmmm... I don't know... the new version of this attraction is going to be rather dinky when viewed from across the Paradise Bay in comparison to the orange. The configuration of PP's fabulous skyline featuring Mickey's Fun Wheel, Screamin, and the Maliboomer will look a little odd now.

I previously guessed one reason the DisCo decided to stick with the swing-ride concept of the Orange Stinger (and eyesore) in the first place was that in the interest of saving money, they were going to preserve the bulk of the junk from 2001 and merely guzzy it up.

I think you're right. However, I don't know if, when they bought the ride from the manufacturer, they just bought the "guts" without the outer shell, or bout the whole thing. If they bought just the gust, then they will have to purchase the outer shell and paint it up with their graphics.

Whatever the case is, I think that what they will end up with will be almost identical (except for their graphics) to the one they have at Knott's. Funny that a lot of what Paradise Pier has was already at Knott's.

I believe that was much of the point behind PP, that is, to compete with Knott's in terms of keeping tourists away from the nearby competition.
