And Knott’s berry farm can go suck it!

The last time I was at Knott’s the pain was pealing off all things, and the carousel horses--well the horse tails were like real horse tails that they had attached to the hole in the back of the carousel horse! One side was nice and smooth (real horse hair), the back side was like leather. it was gross!!
..and big deal that they have “Knott’s scary farm”….Disneyland had the first ever space mountain ghost galaxy! And if anyone had the chance to ride it knows that it was REALLY scary!!

Not to say Cedar Fair does not take of the park's attractions that are not depicting the old west.

Walter Knott must be spinning in his grave. ;)

When they opened Camp Snoopy it was cute and a direct competition to Disneys new Fantasyland built around the same time. Now Knotts has built coasters roaring right over the top of quaint Camp Snoopy. They have totally gone downhill in quality even if you arent concerned that they gave up on attracting whole families.

That blame can go on Cedar Fair. The Knott family no longer has decision making power of the park, any more.

But, if Knott's rides are essentially identical (swings-AKA Waveswinger) if not better (Ghost Rider, Supreme Scream, Wheeler Dealer Bumper Cars), PP doesn't really do that very well. Of course, DCA overall is generally better, but that also depends on what kind of rides people prefer.

Most people don't care and many people traveling to Orange County already have a local theme park in their region that has the kind atmophere found at Magic Mountain and Knott's. Here in the Bay Area we have both a Cedar Fair park and as Six Flags park.

If you are a tourist with kids in tow it's a much simpler proposition to just walk the family across Harbor Blvd. to both DCA and DL on a multi-day parkhopper than to do Knott's and Disneyland the way people used to do in the old days. Also, with all there is to see and do in Southern California there's really little incentive for a family to visit Knott's while on vacation in the region. I predict that Once the Disney Cruise Line comes to the West Coast Disney will further cannibalize the Orange County theme park market for tourist families.
