And his guilt revolves around his actions in derailing an investigation into bush's administration.

It's part of the cover-up. And it's the height of corruption. But at this point the executive branch has been so thoroughly corrupted that even brazen actions such as this just add another layer.

    >> But go ahead and call for impeachment. <<

The reasons against impeachment are mostly lame and revolve around timing issues - bush is lame duck, near the end of his term, and next year is an election year. So the collective opinion seems to be that we should just hold our nnses and wait it out til 01/09.

No. With every week that goes by, more damage is being done to our nation. I don't believe that we should allow it to continue just because it's inconvenient to do the right thing. And I certainly don't believe that this administration should be able to commute their own prison terms. It's just sublimely stupid. They didn't ask paris hilton if she's like to opt out of jail, so why should scooter get off?

The Constitution does not require an actual crime to be committed in order for someone to be impeached and removed. See the links provided above for further details.

I disagree. I don't want either one of them, but Clinton is the more experienced and electable of the two. Obama for some reason has generated a huge war chest, so somebody likes the guy. But here's the thing- Bush just made every single democratic candidate that much more attractive.

I guess where I disagree on this is no Democrat has still distanced themselves fromthe pack either....and while I think the Libby think is just wrong - even the media really has not made anywhere near the big deal out of it one has come to expect.

To me right now it is just another politician, taking care of a fellow politician -- regardless of party -

I'm tired of it but I don't see this particular event as the property of any one party today. I have almost come to expect it which is really sad.

Seriously, I can only speak for what is on the news in Chicago about this -- the apathy to dig into this stuff is now rampant because people have come to expect the worst..... those who are the most upset sure aren't/weren't Bish supporters anyway, and most ( not all it seems ) -original Bush supporters are counting the days also...

I don't see this deicsion as a huge swing -- and my guess is some politcal pollster already figured that out....

time seems to be standing still with regards to the next election...I just wish someone.... anyone would come forward that I could get excited about..

SPP, things may change, of course, but I've been reading, watching newscasts and following this LP discussion.

I do not see anybody switching sides due to this matter. Those who "hate" the president feel they have additional reason to do so. Those who support him are rationalizing his action.

Even the politicians speaking out on either side of the matter are the same who always do so. It may have been a stupid action on his part, but I do not think it will have any effect on the election.

What's interesting is that this statement could be made about any particular thing that's happened over the last past few years. Although you may not be able to say that any particular thing has caused particular voters to change their opinions, there's an undeniable steady slide in support of the President.
