I personally don't get the hate for this attraction. For the record, I also loved the Back to the Future ride at Universal Studios, so it is not just because it is Star Wars. I feel I can do a ride like Space Mountain or Dumbo anywhere, and am not bothered about them. Star Tours is far more unique and creative IMHO.

I'm not a Start Wars addict, but I do enjoy the ride.

I think that they, for the most part, had a better proportion of real sets to video screens than the stuff they're making now, but I don't really think that there's a huge difference between them.

Seeing 3PO right there, the music, the atmosphere is amazing. And the ride's story is so well done - along with the technology at the time it was made. Can't wait for 2.0.

Originally Posted By fkurucz >>Curious from the Star Tours fans.....do you love the attraction because it is a great attraction? And I think the attraction needs more that just a new movie. Hopefully Lucas will be as demanding for the next version of Star Tours as Rowling was for the WWWofHP.

I wonder if the Synch was off between the simulator and the film (as many thought was the problem w/ BW).
Originally Posted By FerretAfros >>I felt that Body Wars was a "forced" use of the technology. That way, they could get all the work done without having to close the attraction, and then just 'plug in' the new programming during a relatively short down time for the redo. That could have just been a rumor, but the turnaround does seem pretty quick compared to some other projects Disney has done recently. I've always heard that the synch was off between the video and motion on Body Wars and Back to the Future, which caused the motion sickness. Strangely, it never affected me, but for some reason I just can't ride the Golden Zephyr at DCA would feeling a little queasy! : /

I think the reason the emotions run very high is Disney means the world to most of us. But you must admit they have been striking out on much lately? Cheapening the place with the synergy angle? --- no I get tired of reading the same predictive posts for 'anything' that a thread makes up -- Uni does it better, this sucks, it's misplaced etc... I am sorry but not everyone agrees what is being done blows across the board-- yet by post 10 in any thread that's what one will read. Opinions are opinions and they are fine, but they poften are posted as gospel and tellig the rest of us we are somehow just pollyana's and have blinders on. I have been going to Disney longer than most people on this board due to my age..and I also agree there are things I don't like ..but it is far from the majority of things. For instance, I know you like Marriott VC-- I had crappy experiences with 2 of their locations. That doesn't make them all crap- but it does tell me there are issues with anything if one wants to look hard enough to find them.. the heading for the HM queue is a perfect example-- it sucks right off the bat- even if virtually no one has seen it..and yet those who have visited range from non committal on it to liking it. And no I have NO issue with owning DVC - as I do not see the Fall of Rome scenarios some see at WDW.. and my experience with DVC has been nothing short of all I wanted and expected. I know that will disappoint some but it's how I feel. My home resort being upgraded - has been wonderful to me throughout 17 years ( my God that was hard to type) of ownership.. WDW still does it for us as a family - I am glad to say. If the time ever comes it does not I will look back fondly and move on. I also remember the 'down days' at DL before the anniversary that some seem to gloss over-- and MK is not in that shape anbd hope it never gets to..but does it need some love- oh yeah, no argument. the snappiness comes from the fact that Doobie can just enter a post - say post #7 on each thread that reads. Yeah but, Uni kicks Disney's behind on this... WDW is crap/ghetto/dump et al. ..and anyone who doesn;t see this doesn't have a clue. that would cover it...

Originally Posted By vbdad55 But sometimes these is validity. It seemed like in this thread, there was a straw on the camel's back? -------- because it works it's way into every single thread you are correct. The straw was the heading of the HM queue thread--it didn't even wait for 5 posts.
