Guess McCain decided not to make THAT same mistake twice.

Makes me shudder to think of what Obama will be reduced to in 8 years (or 16, once Pres Palin gets her two terms in), since slander and filth seems to be the only effective ticket to the White House these days.

No one, of course, said, "two Republicans spread this lie." What they said was, "A lie just like the one Republicans spread in the 2000 primary in South Carolina about McCain having a black child". This implies that it was more than one Republican. If someone would like to give the names of three or four Republicans who spread this lie, that would prove the point. If however, this lie was the result of one nut, that doesn't mean that "Republicans" spread it.

No, I'm suggesting that an email sent out by one person isn't an "entire comprehensive statewide hate campaign".

Although, since we all know he and his associates are rank liars (proven beyond doubt on the "Republicans Disgust Me" thread, one you can't even argue)...you just might be right on this one.

Who knows, really? Obviously both Bush and McCain are equally adept at gutter politics, so perhaps the whole South Carolina issue was just another gigantic McCain lie.

Wouldn't surprise me, at this point.

You danced away from it at the time saying you didn't like the sources - and ignored the fact that they spoke of the smear and were dated during the presidential campaign of 2000.

Now you're expecting people to point out specific people who were responsible for the smear. Why bother? If someone could actually do it, you'd dismiss it just like you did the last time. It's a tiresome game. You're a tool of the right wing and no actual facts on the ground are ever going to change that.

Please find a quote from Sen McCain in which he claims the Bush campaign smeared him by suggesting he fathered a black child. It didn't happen.

No, I asserted that the Bush campaign wasn't behind it.

<You challenged me to find 'contemporary accounts' of the smear. I found two.>

Another distortion of what happened. There is no evidence that the Bush campaign ever alleged that Sen McCain fathered a black child.

<You're a tool of the right wing and no actual facts on the ground are ever going to change that.>

If you actually had facts, you'd produce them. Instead you denigrate and dismiss. Typical of a tool of the left wing.

What's the point? I provided actual facts to you on another topic 5 mins ago and you still are spewing lies about it.

I haven't lied about anything. It's not my fault if the facts don't back up your assertions.

I proved you wrong, and you still denied it. Again - what's the point?

He doesn't deny it. His quotes are "I had to get over it", "I put it behind me", and that "my discussions with the president are private".

Find me a quote where he DENIES Bush was involved. Otherwise, we'll just have to go with the above (which tacitly implicates Bush all the same).
