On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed this a very well-dressed and obviously stuffy-looking foreign woman hadn't moved a muscle. "Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground." She calmly turned her head and said, "In my country, I am called a Princess and I take orders from no one." To which (I swear) the flight attendant replied without missing a beat, "Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country I'm called a Queen, so I out rank you. Tray-up, bitch!"

And btw, Larry Craig says he's going to fight the charges even though the idiot already already pleaded guilty and anyone who listened to that police audio knows this guy should quit while he's a head on ALL of it. **Rolls Eyes**

Despite my guilty plea, say I was entrapped and I really didn't do it, although anyone with a measurable IQ wouldn't plead guilty to something lke this if they didn't do it. Oh oh, the tapes and transcript of my arrest get released and I look like a fool. Well, continue to deny it, but just like my guilty plea, resign my office, even though I didn't do it. The really, really troubling thing here is he's been in the Senate for years now and has had a hand in shaping how this country is run. As the arresting officer said at the end of the tape, and I'm paraphrasing "with judgment like this, no wonder we're in trouble."

His "excuse" for pleading guilty was the stress caused by an ongoing investigation by the local boise press about having him having anonymous sex with strangers in men's rooms. THAT'S your reason?? Case closed.

The plea will stand, the punishment will be next to nothing, and people's attention will be on to other things. The legal expert I saw on TV today said (and any lawyer worth his salt will have already told Craig this), that it's exceedingly rare for people to challenge successfully an already-entered guilty plea. He said there were basically three reasons that have any credibility: a). the arrested person didn't understand English (obviously not applicable here), b). the arrested person wasn't read his rights (which doesn't apply here) or c). the arresting officer threatened, coerced, or physically abused the arrested person - and anyone who has heard the tape knows that wasn't the case either. Other than that, there's no way he's going to rescind his guilty plea successfully. He's just saying so for public consumption, and maybe even to convince himself of something - this man seems to me still deeply, deeply in denial, not to mention the closet.

A "rush to judgment"? Seeking out Craig's "version"? His "version" was that he did it, because of the plea. This guy is simply unbelievable. And now, despite his resignation, he's going to "fight like hell". Fight what? The public's impression that he cruises public bathrooms? Well, who brought that on Larry? Oh wait, you did??? He was read his rights and refused counsel. He pleads guilty and then tells no one. And now everyone is supposed to believe it none of it was his doing? Go away Larry, go far away. Retreat back to your anonymous existence and go on a lifelong search for your lost dignity.

And it's another reason to hate cops (did ANYONE read the interrogation? Did anyone care about the harrassment involved? The threats that cop threw out such as "I'd expect better from a senator", and "you are lying to me")... Last I heard, "I don't remember" does not constitute a lie... You people are ignoring the fact that the cop acted outside the boundries of the law. Does NOONE else see this? The guy was railroaded (and I don't even CARE if he was cruising for sex or whatever, that's NOT THE POINT). Guilty until proven innocent...no doubt. And another reason to hate the system, and another reason I hate the country of my birth (and will only return to visit, cautiously to boot since the gestapo is firmly in charge)... Does noone else see this?

Why is everyone so quick to belive the obviously corrupt and intimidating cop?
Originally Posted By wonderingalice Okay... I understand you have your reasons for hating cops. Fine. But... If I were a young boy and that crap was going on, I'd run and tell my parents as fast as I could. Would airport security step in then...? Probably. Why do YOU think Craig's not lying? He pleaded guilty, after all. And unless Idaho elected a complete moron, we have to assume he knew what he was doing from the start - covering it up.

At the same time, I don't believe this is entrapment, and courts all over the country concur with that. The cop was just sitting there, as someone might be just sitting in a stall. Craig initiated everything. Entrapment is when the cop initiates things, and tempts someone into doing something they otherwise might not have done. Offering someone a bribe, for instance. Or "hey, buddy, want to make a quick hundred bucks? Just take this envelope and drop it in the trash can on the corner of..." SPP can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the cop has to initiate things for it to be considered entrapment. Also, I listened to the tape, and I didn't find him threatening. More like exasperated at hearing lies he knew not to be true. Just for fun, consider that the cop is telling the truth. He was THERE, and not 20 minutes before, this guy in the stall next to him was waving his hand back and forth, palm up, to signal for sex. Then Craig tries to say he was "picking up a piece of paper" when the cop knows there was no piece of paper? He's being lied to, and he knows it, and I thought he sounded very calm and reasonable, but increasingly exasperated as the lies continued. I agree that this is a poor use of police, but that cop knows the law very well and I'm sure this does not constitute entrapment.
