This is there country some that I know personally have lived here for over 15 years and also pay taxes every year. So I guess what I am trying to say is that we can't blame everything bad on these guys, they are just regular people like you and me who tried to make a life for their families and I feel bad for them.

The crimes being talked about here are only state felonies completely unrelated to their being illegal immigrants: things like rape, robbery, murder, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, and so on. This proposal as nothing to do with criminalizing overstaying, enhancing the penalty for non-citizens, increased enforcement, or anything of the kind.

All it says is that IF someone is convicted in California of a felony (unrelated to their immigration status) and is sent to state prison, and that person happens to be an illegal alien and is from Mexico, then their prison term could be served in a prison in Mexico operated by the Mexican government on behalf of California.

<<< If their workplace was raided, they get deported. >>>

And if by chance they get charged with an immigration crime (such as if they're found working here after having been previously deported), then that matter would be something they'd find themselves in FEDERAL prison for, not state prison. This proposal is a State of California one and has nothing to do with the federal government or immigration crimes.
