Nope. Weis' masterplanning decisions has made it almost impossible. This is just one of a number of missteps by the man responsible for Disney/MGM Studios. The guy can't masterplan to save his life.

MGM is badly designed, I mean there are two e-ticket attractions at the end of a dead end street. That area is always packed with people.

Here are more pictures of the topping off. And a picture of the castle staircase.

It also looks like the other things are coming along in the background. There's an odd-looking plain warehouse building in the middle of Fantasyland (between the outdoor boat ride, Mine Train, and Teacups), so I'll be interested to see what that turns into

Will SDL be the biggest castle park so far?

I think it's interesting that the interior is similar to the newly remodeled stores in the US. The Japanese stores that I visited last summer all had a different look from the US ones, but were fairly consistent among themselves. I don't think this design is especially appealing, so it's strange to me that they keep using it

It is the Imagination store design that Steve Jobs was involved in development. This Shanghai store is probably closer to the Time Square store in terms of design but on a larger scale. There are some new elements. I like it but I always wonder how the interactive elements will impact guest throughput. Times Square has no interactive elements on the ground floor now and Shanghai has them scattered throughout.

It has a prime location in Lujiazui - right by the Pearl Tower. It isn't a great shopping location but is right by the metro.

The store has picked up a lot of the Japanese product too - UniBearsity and more of the D-Tech stuff.

I liked the 90's-style stores in the 90's, but I was one a couple years ago and it felt horribly out of date. The new ones just seem a little to clean and sleek and unwelcoming to me. Then again I feel the same way about the Apple, Microsoft, and Tesla stores in my local mall, yet they always seem to have a decent crowd

The SCMP article mentioned that they're only letting 300 shoppers in at a time. I don't know much about retail theory, but that seems like a very low number for a store that's nearly 900 square meters. I would assume that these first few days or weeks will be the busiest time for the store (akin to black Friday in the US), so it seems odd to have so much elbow room. I can only imagine that the interactive elements only further slow down the queues of people waiting to get in

I still think that Disneytown is one of the worst names they've ever created though. It makes "Carsland" look like some sort of literary genius

People were standing in line for 90 minutes just to shop. That's crazy.
