    Duh.

Isn't it obvious that they're preparing everyone for just such an experience? Every bit of imagery/artwork/model I've seen smacks of it.

Or perhaps you're just stuck in "Disneytown" bemoaning the lack of quality. ;)

    Yeah. Thought so.

Somehow I don't think so, but at the same time I think it's verboten to point out that "These Disney Parks are going to suck" on the internet these days. At least not without some sort of a severe backlash.

Yeah...looks like garbage to me. Especially the TWORIDE land (er Twomorrowland?). Blech.

I regret that I wasted 5 hours in Hong Kong. You'll find me visiting this place if it's the last tourist attraction Shanghai (an awesome city, I'm sure!) has to offer. And only then. Reluctantly.

I agree; in a lot of ways, this reminds me of HKDL's opening lineup. What was there was really well done. There just wasn't very much there

This seems like it's being done on a bigger scale, with some new real E-ticket attractions. And a couple B/C ticket attractions. And TONS of empty space in between them. This park is going to be huge. The roster is not. It's just going to have a lot of blank space between the handful of things to do.

Let's hope that they did some master planning for how to develop all that space in between things, lest we end up with another hodgepodge of a park. Lord knows Disney already has enough of those...

If that's what the Chinese guests want (and the ticket price is set correctly), I could see this being a moderate success. But if expectations are for a park full of attractions, then I see some troubles ahead. Given that most visitors will only have HKDL (and local non-Disney amusement parks) for a point of reference, maybe it could work. To most of them, "Disney" doesn't conjure up the same images that it gets in the rest of the world

By the way that company also built Mickey's Fun Wheel.

There's also a similar roof over the courtyard of the National Portrait Gallery in DC. I found an article that said Norman Foster designed it, but nothing about who actually built it

Yes they did the Reichstag in Berlin. They also did the roof of the British Museum, the Yas Marina and the Sony Center in Berlin.

According to the world map, they didn't build anything in the US. However they are a subcontractor for Intamin AG, the Swiss amusement rides company. That's why they built the Mickey's Fun Wheel.

I know many don't like the look of the building, I'm also not so sure about that, but I think the coaster can be very cool. At least I like it judging from the article.

Ooooh but how cool is the Tron coaster though?

TDL doesn't have a railroad that circles the park, so they have a more standard Victorian-ish building for the entrance to World Bazaar (though I guess theirs is more than a simple bridge like Shanghai, since it brings you under the covered roof)

From the image of the rapids ride, the layout looks *very* similar to Grizzly River Run at DCA. Although it's a perfectly nice ride, I've never thought it was great enough that the layout needed to be duplicated elsewhere

With what's there so far, I'm starting to worry about the look of Tomorrowland. Obviously there's a lot of time left to add some more details, but the basic structure of those elevated walkways is too reminiscent of a freeway overpass. In fact, when I first saw the photo I thought it was from a nearby roadwork site, until I looked at the image closer and read the caption. Especially for TLs, the devil is in the details, so hopefully they do a good job with this

Has it been confirmed that it's supposed to be a railroad station?

As for GRR, I rode the attraction for the first time in years on my last trip, and it happened to be with a random tourist family. The whole group loved it. Lots of screams, smiles and giggles throughout the entire ride. I can't imagine that a similar ride wouldn't be well received by guests in Shanghai.

OAN, I'm officially a fan of this iteration of Tomorrowland (assuming the real thing looks like the concepts). The lighted roof of the Tron coaster looks awesome. Again, my only gripe is that for a park with such strong cohesive storytelling TL's this and that content is a bit weak.
