I believe the biggest complaint about GRR was always the lack of animatronics. Looks like Shanghai is going to have a very big one. I'm also guessing from the artwork released of the animatronic, the show scene will be indoors, although GRR has a few tunnels, an indoor section of rapids could really add to the thrill. I found this especially at the Jurassic Park raft ride at Singapore.

I think WDi took the same approach like they did with TDL. That park also has a very spacious hub. If I'm not mistaken, they did that to have a contrast to the huge city of Tokyo.

Nice video from the SDL presentation, especially the first minutes. It doesn't start from the begining so you have restart it by your own.

TDL's enormous hub was the result of having to have to set Cinderella Castle back far enough to visually "fit" beneath the roof of World Bazaar when viewed from inside the park's entrance.

I didn't know that. By the way is TDL's castle a copy of WDW's? I know the colour scheme is different, but are there any other differences. To me they look identical.

Although the layout was a little different, nearly everything in TDL was copied from MK or DL. The only truly-original attractions were Meet the World (originally intended for Epcot's Japan pavilion) and The Eternal Sea (a film that was quickly replaced by Magic Journeys and then Captain EO). At the moment, DLP is the only park with a unique castle, but Shanghai will also have a new design; DL and HKDL share a castle as well

I was thinking about being identical in size and height and stuff. According to Wikipedia WDW's and TDL's castles are carbon copies.

They even left the space inside available for a walkthrough like DL's

And with the new non-character-specific castle for Shanghai being taller than any of the other ones, I guess the bragging rights don't make much of a difference any more
