I hear the first one long ago in Florida from someone, but this second point seems to make more sense (or at least adds another logical dimension to it). There's nothing more magical than hunkering down inside World Bazaar during a snowstorm and watching the flurries fly over the castle. :)

Then again, I was also told the walkways were intentionally wide to contrast with "cramped" Tokyo, which would seem to make sense I guess, but I suppose "expecting big crowds" would fit the same bill in a more mundane fashion.

"It was sort of a "greatest hits" compilation of sorts"

A very diplomatic way to say "patchwork quilt", which TDL very much was, and in many ways still is. :)

You have to imagine the ride with the fantastic soundtrack from Daft Punk. This must be an amazing experience.

I thought it was especially curious that all this happened right before the D23 Expo, where Shanghai was a huge portion of the Imagineering exhibit. They didn't announce anything new at the presentations, but it seems like there was a lot of floor space dedicated to it

It looks like a much better version of the Storybook Canal Boats.

I think I prefer the regular version of Storybookland. These look like they will be stationary statues of various characters (perhaps with limited motion, like spinning in a circle) surrounded by some relatively simple fountains. I always think that static figures look kind of cheesy, so if they're not going to move I would rather them just do buildings like Storybookland. That said, I'm sure that this will do a better job of introducing the characters to park guests, since they'll actually see what they look like

I also concede that DLP's Storybookland seems to lack something in comparison to DL's. While they're the same basic concept, there's something about DL's that feels more real, while DLP's feels kind of plastic

Will the boats have cast members on board? When I first heard about the ride, I thought it sounded more like DLP's Storybookland, but the images show boats that remind me of the Jungle Cruise

I still hold the opinion that Tron looks amazing.

I'm surprised to see that Buzz and the jet packs are this far along in construction already. I guess it fits with the original opening schedule, but it's still surprising. I think it's funny that they're trying to make Buzz sound like it has a different storyline (because they're really trying to make this park sound special to impress the Chinese government), even though it's the exact same story in a slightly different setting

I'm still not completely convinced that I like the exposed track and supports of the Tron coaster, but it sure looks like it will have a lot of cool design features and will be really fun to ride

It will be interesting to see if these factories remain closed permanently (or have major environmental upgrades). If it is permanent, then I think it just further reinforces how strong the Chinese government's involvement/ownership of the park is, since there's no way they would let Disney do that on their own

I'm impressed by how rehearsed it appears, since we're still 6+ months from opening

I think it's funny that they have to give Edgar Rice Burroughs credit on the rehearsal video. I don't think he had anything to do with the plate spinning or aerial acts!
