Of course not, it was only my personal opinion. I liked Expedition Everest a lot, the same with BTM, but I was very disappointed by WDW's Space Mountain. I just like the Paris version better.

Both Hong Kong and Anaheim have the same track, and soundtrack, making for a pretty fun ride. HKDL also has the giant asteroid at the top of the 2nd lift that was installed at DL but the lights were never turned on; it's hardly a mindblowing addition, but it's a cool unique feature. The 'scenery' on the lifts is also different than in DL.

TDL has the same track as well, but I'm not sure what music they have (if they have it), or what sort of visuals they have on the way up. I know it got a complete redo a while back (~2008), so I suspect it has some upgrades too.

I liked Paris's, but Anaheim is my favorite version by far.

None of them are as good as any of the Big Thunder Mountains, though.

Here I go educating the masses again.. sighs.

No, TDL's Space Mountain does not have a music system like DLP, DL or HKDL. The visuals are unique to this ride as they feature a palette of green aqua colors in what simulates a space energy plant, with lots of fast moving light effects and electric static (rays) like effects in some areas. The ride is dark and features the same re-entry ending found at DL and HKDL. It was re-opened in april 2007.

    Check it out:

I also agree with WDW's Space being the worst, in every respect. Then again, most everything they have at WDW's MK is the worst versions when compared to the other DL parks. One execption being the Haunted Mansion but then again, the way they rush guests thru there gives no time to enjoy the full effects of the show.. not to mention the dozens of times they have to stop the ride to let fat guests on and off their wheelchairs. Just ruins everything for me.

It sure is. I couldn't see a thing in the video after the second lift until the return to the space port.

It also makes me look forward to the WDW version of the ride, since we've seen almost nothing of its finished look yet, other than some high-concept sketches

It going to Shanghai is one of the reasons it was added to MK. Helped cut down development cost.

Or at least that's what a friend working on the project told me.

Without SDL, what would have come to the new Fantasyland instead?

There's a good chance the coaster still would have happened. But being able to split development costs helped it out.

I guessed so, but thanks for the answer.

That's why I'm surprised DLP opted for Ratatouille instead of something else, when splitting development costs help to save money.

There hasn't been too much detail released for either project yet, but it sounds like they use a very similar concept (trackless vehicles past video screens) and are being developed at the same time. If they design them cleverly, they could use the same layout for both attractions, and just change the theming to create a new experience, like Dinosaur at DAK and Indiana Jones at DL/TDS

That makes a lot of sense and I've never thought about that.

It seems that the lake, which can be seen in the concept arts, is already there.
