Redwood Creek Challenge Trail at DCA has some similar features, but they're much more hidden and in a park with more modest (anticipated) crowd levels. This looks like it will be very visible, which would make it more fun but also more popular. It just seems like an odd choice for something with a capacity of a few dozen guests per hour

The massing and color of the building looks vaguely like the Seven Dwarfs cottage, but the architectural style is completely different. I wonder if there will be more random mini-houses like this throughout the area

It's a lot easier to build a building that's all the same height, so it seems weird to have 4-5 separate roofs for such a simple warehouse structure

I can't imagine it would have been that much more expensive to run HVAC for a slightly taller building, especially when you take into consideration a significantly lower construction and maintenance cost Then again, Disney's odd shaped buildings (including those that look like mountains) are what set them apart from the rest. This one just has me scratching my head a little

Originally Posted By FerretAfros I think we've known that the seating will be 2 across, but we don't know how many rows each train will have; I would guess about 8 rows, based on the concept art and videos DL's Space Mountain only seats 12 per train (2 rockets, each with 3 rows of 2), but maintains a high hourly throughput. It has one of the fastest dispatch intervals (16 seconds during peak periods) which really helps. It will take longer for guests to load onto these unusual vehicles, so hopefully they're planning on having a dual loading station to speed things up. This will surely be one of the headline attractions, so I hope it doesn't have the same capacity as the Mine Train (which will probably be an issue in Shanghai as well)

That said, I question their "no one will be excluded"/"all abilities" language in the descriptions, since it sounds like the non-able-bodied guests will only have access to the walkways below the course I'm surprised how big the shopping center is. It's 2-3 times bigger than I had envisioned it

Does every attraction have to be suitable for disabled guests?

Originally Posted By FerretAfros >>Does every attraction have to be suitable for disabled guests?<< In essence, yes. Older attractions have some exemptions, but must be retrofitted to the maximum extent practical when they're significantly remodeled. When DL turned the Swiss Family Treehouse into Tarzan in 1999, they had to add the interactive play area at the base to allow an accessible alternative; given the extent of the changes they made, I'm not sure that would be an adequate alternative if they tried to do it now There are some fuzzy rules though. There are vague statements that accessibility should be done without taking away from the inherent nature of something (presumably adding ramps to a ropes course would do that), but there is no clear way to deal with it. Additionally, everything is supposed to be accessible to people with all sorts of disabilities (wheelchair users, visually impaired, mental handicaps, etc), so it's really difficult to know exactly what must be done with some of the more unique types of attractions. It's also part of the reason Disney has had trouble with their new disabled access passes for queues, since there are a wide variety of disabilities that must be accommodated in different ways I deal with ADA a lot for work, so I am particularly sensitive to a lot of the issues that are presented in designing public spaces

Its all probably just high level planning at this point and is likely to change, but it's interesting to think about
