"Does that mean you are excited about a new version, or do you want to say, that Disney should create something entirely new for SDL instead of a new pirates ride?"

I think a new iteration of Pirates at SDL is fine since most people visiting that park will probably be new to the concept. For us though, it's a another story. Unless it's radically different from the existing Pirate rides (ie: Mystic Manor vs HM/PM) then I see little to be excited about.

I thought the same. By the way what is ME doing now. I know that after he stepped down he had a TV show on NBC. Then he had his own investment company. Torment or something like that.

    Maybe it's the Tron coaster.

What approach does Disney have with SDL? Will it be more like DLP when it opens, or will it be more like HKDL in terms of attractions?

Rolling in millions of dollars. At least that's what I would do if I were him.

That's what I'm thinking. The support on the left side of the picture looks like it will be attached to a piece of track that is heavily banked, which makes sense with the lightcycle-style seating. Also, the black supports would be ideal for hiding inside a dark show building with various light effects

I think you are right. On one hand I'm glad WDI is trying something new, but on the other hand I would have loved to see Space Mountain at SDL. It's such an iconic Disney attraction and they could have tried something new with it, like they did in Paris.

On a side note. Whe we have been to DLP two weeks ago, during the Extra Magic Hours we met an US family in the queue line of SM. I'm not sure if they knew that the Paris version is much more thrilling than its American counterparts.

After we rode SM, we waited at the exit to see their reaction. The father definitely enjoyed the ride and had a huge smile on the face, while the kids didn't look so well. However they queued again right afterwards.

A friend of mine (who is also a huge Disney fan) went to DLP a couple weeks after me, and I gave her a pretty detailed itinerary of attractions to do, and things to skip. I just assumed she knew that SM was much more intense, but apparently she (and everybody in her group) was unaware, and was caught completely off guard by the launch and pretty much everything within the ride itself. I'm a little sad I wasn't there to see their reactions in person!

He is watching his weight a lot more these days. His weight used to fluctuate a lot when he was at the Company.

He runs a business called Tornante that is effectively a private equity business for his family's money:

He still tries to stick to media and entertainment brands but has some other stuff in there.

I think he has to watch his weight since he had a heart surgery during his time at Disney.

Tornante, that's the name. If I'm not mistaken his company is somehow involved with Topps Trading Cards.

The site of the station is pretty big - it will be significantly larger than HKDL's station.

I agree. The Mickey silhouette designs are slightly tacky and remind me of a 1990s era Disney Store... or even worse those horrible windows on the TDL Monorail. Hopefully they'll keep it simple and let the designs inside the park do their work to enchant visitors instead of stamping character graphics all over the place.

Maybe we should get some of the Chinese builders to come work on the Mine Train...
