For instance, if Paris Hilton thinks she should have the best of the best because she's Paris Hilton (I still don't understand how this broad became famous - she's made a name for herself based on her inheritance!). Also, I believe it's elitist for someone to snub "common" things because they consider those things to be beneath them. Let's say I invited Paris Hilton over to my house (HA HA HA) and served homemade chocolate cookies and Community coffee, and she refused to eat or drink because she ONLY eats Godiva chocolate chip cookies and drinks Starbucks. In short, someone who is elitist demands certain material things because of their name or brand, not because of its quality or reputation, but because of the image it represents. They believe they deserve these things because they're better than anyone else.

Seriously << I believe everyone should be the best they can be. Sometimes your best doesn't even get you to the average or ordinary category. Being among the elite is a very good thing. However acting in an elitist fashion or having an attitude of elitism is very undersiable in my eyes. I believe Nikki said it in a much more eloquent way than I possibly could.

And Nikki explain it well, although I'm not sure how/when an elitist became a bad thing on the road to being elite. Wondering if I'm making sense ... but if I become elite at something, that's a good thing. But if that causes me to be an elitist, it is bad. I understand the difference quite well. I just don't get why one became associated with so many negative things.

I am a well trained red neck, and I can multi task.

A true elitist would only stay at the Grand Floridian because it is THE BEST. You need some work on your elitism, Spirit, or you can't hang with me and my snobby self anymore .
