It's also because they can't argue based on facts or reality. They have to go to these other styles of rhetoric in order to try and get people to listen. I rarely listen to him because of the time it's on and other things I'm doing. But I happened to be in the car and heard part of his show that day. And all he was doing was quoting from an article and expressing his amusement that - like Clinton being called the first Black president - Edwards was being called the first woman pres (candidate). Limbaugh gets in more trouble simply by quoting other news articles and statements. He thought it was funny, discussed it awhile and that's all there was to it. And it IS funny, if think about it.
