Guests may bring their own wheelchairs at any time, motorized or not. This situation has nothing to do with Disneyland Resort not allowing a Guest with disabilities to use his or her own mobility devices.

What happens once they get to the bus/tram, we need to take it to get to the car or hotel room? Are the CM's not as freindly as they were in the past, yes at times, but most guests do not act they did back then too. I would almost bet that they tried to stop them on the way out the bag check/exit and they kept going just doing the we will ignore the CM and act like we don't hear them.
Originally Posted By Hooper42 >they kept going just doing the we will ignore the CM and act like we don't hear them.< We do that all the time. What are they going to do? They are people just like you and me. Even the security guards are unarmed old gray haired grandpa types. I can only think of two examples where we did something that we felt was no big deal and someone said something to us. We just kept going. Once was at the entrance to Indy where some people were clogging up the line talking to each other and we walked around them in the que. A CM told us to wait, but we just kept walking. The other time was when my son needed to use the restroom pretty badly and we went backward through the line to leave and a CM tried to stop us from gong the wrong way in line. We just kept walking. In this example of the wheel chair, I would bet that if the guests had asked for assistance, it would have been given freely, and or they could have just kept walking.

It wouldn't sit well with anyone who dislikes racist comments.

I visited a few years ago with my frail mother, who walks with a cane but is otherwise fine. Halfway through the day we gave in and picked up a wheelchair, for which she was most grateful.

I was getting my granddaughter out and saying something about the day I had. When she found out she asked, "Would it help if I got someone from Security to help you to the trams?" I sighed a very grateful yes and it was done. So I know there is some policy about helping people past the gates. And if the CM yelled at the people. Well, that is just unacceptable. I have seen more and more of this kind of behavior in recent years and it does upset me. Rude behavior by guests upsets me as well. I never leave the Park at night without thanking the CM's for all they do. Just a little thing but I like to think it makes them feel it is worth it.

The whole thing was intended as a joke but I can see (as usual, somehow I forgot) jokes and political jabs (especially in regards to California) are completely off limits here. I offer a sincere apology for being a bit too carefree and offending anyone here. I am certainly far right and conservative, that's no secret. But a racist I am not.

Perhaps you don't even realize it since the vitriol of the past couple of years has become so obnoxiously common that it doesn't even register. But that doesn't change the fact that what you wrote is a racist comment. How many other Presidents can you name who's supporters would be blanket categorized as a bunch of thugs and thieves? ***By Obama Nation, I simply meant extreme liberals that make it common practice to take things that belong to other people, typically in the form of using taxes as a means of redistribution of wealth, but wheel chairs work too I guess.*** That doesn't make a lick of sense. You're just trying to walk back what you said. Can't be done. Here's what you wrote, again. "But I guess they don't do this in Cali due to the expertise of the advanced Obama Nation folk out there, with tools for stealing wheel chairs." A joke was intended, indeed. Just not one in good taste.

We've never needed special assistance at any park, but the few times we've discussed it with CM's at DLP they've been excellent and very helpful in offering whatever we may need!!!
