They also need to consider eliminating the offers that attract the teenage crowds that they so much fear now. they should have thought about that when they started offering rap concerts inside the park only to find out that it created havoc. As for the idea of Disney buying it. Lets hope it is never even considered. the park is way too far to even add it to any package connected to anaheim. It should also never be tied to anaheim because all it will do is tarnish its reputation. I am sure that Magic Mountain is more of a liability than an investment. I could just imagine the insurance premiums just to run that park. The only buyer i see for this place is Cedar Fair and only maybe to pick and choose some of its coasters to relocate to other of its parks and then resale the prime real estate that park sits on.

Not a pleasant experience and the coasters seem to have got bigger and faster. Let the park die peacefully. That land is mighty valuable and I'm sure KB Homes or someone is eyeing it up already.

That was all debt-financed and they are having raise an additional $250m in a public offering to repay some of that debt. In short Cedar Fair have maxed out their credit lines right now. I can't see them being able to borrow to buy failing assets.

BTW, the correct name was "Marinelnd of the Pacific". ;-) I guess you could add "Lion Country Safari" to that list as well. And back to the movie credits, Magic Mountain was also featured in "This is Spinal Tap". I believe the park was called "Themeland U.S.A".

Then in the 70s, they built the park out over the railroad tracks, and added a log flume ride and some other rides. I remember seeing artist's renderings for another expansion, and they closed shortly after that. I think the brewery is still there in Van Nuys. Would anyone really want to take a 60-90 minute shuttle from one of the resort hotels to this park (and back?).

If you increased entrance fee's then you wind up turning away the very families that you are trying to attact. Not many families can afford $70.00 a head just to get in. Besides the food is a leaves a lot to be desired The Wendy's just down the street is like a 5 star resteruant compared to most of the eats in MM. I just really wish they would give the park a good scrubbing, get rid of all of the gang tagging and that if anyone is caught doing it they should be severely punished. Make them first sand down whatever wood they just decided to tag then have them spend hours on end getting the paint or varnish back up to standards. No streaks, drips or runs When they are done of course call the cops on them. If they refuse to remove there tagging then send them on Flashback a dozen or so times
