The first tree with the more lights at the bottom than at the top is a real tree, like 10 ft. tall, literally...the other is one of those pre-lit fiber optic trees which makes the stand light up...it's really cool, most people who have them cover the stand with a tree cover but you shouldn't do that because the system gets over heated and ends up breaking and you have a $200 pre lit fiber optic tree that doesn't work....I LOVE it because it's so deliciously gawdy...
