I love IOA, always have, but I am sure WWoHP will take it to a whole 'nother level. But it's not Disney. And that's fine. There's more than one way to grill a great steak ... or make art. Or theme park art. <<And you NEED to go. Your jaw will drop when you walk into WWoHP.>> I WOULD have gone except you and leethatjerkwithahugeegoandhandleherethatgoesonandonandonandon couldn't wait until THIS week. Now, I don't know when I'm going to go to be honest. I'd like to go before I head west, but it would have to be an up and back deal and I hate those (unless someone else is driving!!!) But I am really looking forward to it and I am thrilled you enjoyed it. ~Do I want to see Kong at Uni Hollywood?~

Jury is out on the last one, if only because they can't decide exactly what is being built (beyond Mermaid and Beauty and Beast dining) ... and by the time Mermaid opens, it will be old to me because I'll be riding it next spring in Anaheim. While I expect quality in both parks, I doubt this will be something that resonates within me to my fanboi core! <<But there's too much of the bad, as you said. >> Yes. There is ... and some of it is just bad beyond belief. I was starting to get excited about my visits to HKDL this fall and started looking at pics ... would you believe they are selling Spiderman and IronMan crap in Fantasyland shops in HK?!?! That's this whole brand mindset that Iger can't let go of, like a dog with a bone. ~Hulk is Doing Cindy!~

They're playing on your emotions instead of offering you new, quality, substantive reasons for visiting. I don't feel nostalgia and history at MK. Really. I enjoy it for what it is, but if I start getting filled with nostalgia, it's probably going to leave me sad because I'm going to largely be noticing all the stuff that's missing ... what's been taken away. <<Uni only had that in WWoHP for me, and that's because I've read/obsessed over the books/movies.>> I'd like to see a trip report from ya ... and hear what else you saw/experienced/did. Did you visit UNI or stay at IOA all day? If you missed UNI, you missed a park that is much better than TPFKaTD-MGMS. <<But does that mean Uni is worse? Nope. It's just as good, and really does a great job at story telling. It's a different style.>> Exactly. That's all that's different. But for some people not seeing Mickey plush and CMs with pin lanyards everywhere somehow equates to magic. I don't get that, but I haven't totally lost my mind ... yet! <<Busch, though? Ehhhhh....Been there twice. Never really liked my time there. >> I haven't been in ... well, your lifetime. Much more interested in the VA park, frankly. I don't like Tampa at all, so driving there to do Busch has very little interest for me, even though I can basically get in free whenever I go. ~Where's the free beer? ... Was Pierce here?~

And to think, you could have been enjoying that very same place since 1998! Not to rag on you EE because I think you're a sweet kid but it's the real nasty anti-Uni people I cannot stand. Those that feel you have attended a Neo-Nazi rally if you step through the gates at USF or IOA - as if you have made Mickey cry. That's just juvenile and stupid and in the end they are missing out on a world class resort in their own backyard.

It's the actual feeling the place has and the past surrounding it. MSUSA might have it's stores ripped out, but the mood is still evocative of Disney. Horizons might be gone from EPCOT, but it's still one of the more inspiring places I know. It's still there... But no where near where it should be.

Can't wait to see Uni Studios. Trip report....maybe...I am swamped with essays at school, so I honestly am in no mood.

IoA is really a great place. I do regret not seeing it sooner, though, back then, I honestly had no interest.
