That's a very polite and tactful way to refer to the christian right voting bloc within the GOP. And I agree with you - the GOP candidate cannot win without them. And romney can't bring them them around to his candidacy.

As a rule, these people will vote as they're told by their leaders, and these leaders will not endorse romney.

    So - he's toast.

Not based on fact as usual. At least you're right on one thing, there are many Christian Leaders who are all over the map.

Rudy Guiliani received an endorsement from Pat Robertson.... and he is tanking.

The big thing about Romney is he has a Christian endorsement.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Bob Jones III, chancellor of the Christian fundamentalist school named for his family in Greenville, is endorsing Mitt Romney for the Republican nomination for president.

Romney's campaign confirmed Jones' endorsement yesterday. "We're proud to have Dr. Jones' support and look forward to working with him to communicate Governor Romney's message of conservative change to voters," Romney spokesman William Holley said in a statement.

CBN's David Brody: "This is a big one folks. In a Brody File exclusive, we've found out that Paul Weyrich, the former co-founder of The Moral Majority has endorsed Mitt Romney for President. The Brody File has the press release." (David Brody, "Romney Scores Major Endorsement," Christian Broadcasting Network, 11/5/07)

    - Brody: "Where do I begin? Let me start by saying that Paul Weyrich is a huge name in the social conservative movement. If you know anything about the conservative movement in this country in the last 30 years or so, you know how big a deal this is." (David Brody, "Romney Scores Major Endorsement," Christian Broadcasting Network, 11/5/07)

    - Brody: "Plus, by getting a social conservative guy like Weyrich on board, it gives the Romney campaign a big leap forward to be able to say that Romney is serious about moving a pro-family, traditional value agenda as President." (David Brody, "Romney Scores Major Endorsement," Christian Broadcasting Network, 11/5/07)

    >> Bob Jones University lost its tax-exempt status in 1970 for refusing to admit African-Americans. The school then changed its policy but still prohibited any interracial dating or marriage. In 1983, the U.S. Supreme Court supported an IRS decision to remove tax-exempt status from the school for its dating policy, which included rules such as “students who date outside their own race will be expelled.†[The Tax Lawyer, Winter 1984)

The university still bnned interracial dating in 1998. In 1998, James Landrith, who is white, tried to apply to the school even though he is married to an African American woman. According to National Public Radio, Landrith received this response to his application: “I noticed on your application that you are interracially married. Bob Jones University does not endorse this. It would be no problem for you to be a student here as long as your wife was not or vice versa.†[NPR, 4/15/99]

On “Larry King Live†in March 2000, Bob Jones III said that the university had dropped the ban on interrracial dating as of March 3, 2000. Jones said the national scrutiny the school has received since George W. Bush’s campaign appearance there in 2000 led to the decision to drop the policy. Jones III also said that the foundation for the ban was still true -- “that God made the races separate for his own purpose, and it is wrong to break down the barriers God erected, that it could lead to dangerous ‘one-worldism’. <<

Now there's an endorsement a candidate can really celebrate. People who are openly racist and using religion to divide people.

Rasmussen shows Clinton comfortably ahead in Democratic polls. Republicans must really fear her for some reason.

Where I'm going with that of course is to see if woody has someone he actually likes as opposed to trying to tear down Hillary Clinton in every post. If he has no one he can promote, then enough with the Hillary fetish already.

At least, it would be good news for Obama and Edwards. Why is bad news for Hillary considered negative? It's the beginning for Obama and Edwards.
