    Intended for Broadway or tour? Right now, it's a LORT production. We open in Pasadena in the fall, then do the Alliance in Atlanta in Jan/Feb /07. Then it's up for grabs. No definite plans at this point for a commercial production.

    Both Alan Menken(music) and Glen Slater(lyricist) were around for the week..as well as the Steinkelner's...(writer's of "Cheers' fame) They wanted to see it up with live voices...and then make changes as needed before it opens in Pasadena in the Fall...To tell you the truth..even without any changes...it gave me shivers...(the good kind) Of course..what a difference it will make once it's staged, choreographd...and then costumes, sets, props,lights, and sound are added in...I believe it will be the best musical that the Pasadena Playhouse has ever seen...I can't wait!!!! but guess I'll have to.....

    Slightly off subject, but has anyone heard any word about the upcoming movie-based musical shows, "Edward Scissorhands," "Legally Blond," "Elf," and "Shrek." I just received the promotional DVD for both Scissorhands and Legally Blond, which look pretty good based on the DVD, especially Scissorhands. But, I'm a little apprehensive of "Elf" the musical and "Shrek" as onstage productions.

    Back to topic, Sister Act sounds like it's shaping up to be a great show...definitely worth a trip to Pasadena.

    "Edward Scissorhands" is actually a ballet directed by Matthew Bourne, who won Tonys for his work on the reimagining of "Swan Lake" a few years back. It uses some of Danny Elfman's original score from the movie. I believe it has opened in London, and I hear there are plans for it to tour in the US in the near future.
