If they were to add a bracelet to one of the dolls, that would be something that was never there in the beginning, does that mean it's not a subtle change? "Small World has changed from a promotion of world peace to a promotion of Disney characters," Nah, it's still a promotion of world peace. If you miss the message, you're blind and deaf. The message of unity is pretty overwhelming.

It did have a Radio Disney logo on the back, and they did have a little spot set up near there (there wasn't anybody in it though), but it just seemed really random. The regular park maps that they had that day still show it as coming soon (with a Feb 09 opening date) with new surprises, so I just don't get why they thought they had to do this.

First, perhaps some people are, well, if not complaining, at least commenting that they don't see the changes or can't find all of the new characters. Or Radio Disney could be doing some type of promotion to bring more attention to the new characters. >"What once was a celebration of the children of the world has now turned into a game of spot the character"< Sigh. Why can't it be both? Why can't a radio station promote new characters without changing the theme of world peace & harmony?

If you look at the style of the ride, and what's represented in each country (animals, native costumes, toys, famous landmarks) it could have been a fun way to show young children countries of the world. They've ruined all that now. Instead of saying "Look, there's France! There's Mexico!" the kids are going to be saying "Look, there's Cinderella! There's Aladdin!" They couldn't have let well enough alone, could they?

One day on ISAW: Look mommy there is Cinderella! Yes dear there she is, she is in France which is where the story is based. Later at home watching the Movie: Look mommy Cinderella is home in France. Does all of France have those pretty castles?

Promoting the location of the characters does nothing but add a level of fun, the same as having the translator cards in the Indy queue made the long queue more fun. It does NOTHING to change the theme of the attraction - nothing. I think you're just looking for more ways to grouse about an addition that you don't like.

They would have been better if they were small and in the hand of a exsisting character! Not sure if they was just an error last night - but the whole place was lit up and we could see way too much of the bottom and all the ceiling. That was bad! Also I never in the past noticed the long black walls along two of the areas. My friend was sure they were not there before. With the way the place was lit up the girls commented the dolls looked like foam. Like I said I am hoping this wasn't a new feature and just something that happened last night.
Originally Posted By Bellella I hope you're right too. As for the long black walls, I do remember, in the Africa room, you only see dolls and settings on your right side. As far as I can see, its always been that way. I don't remember another one on the ride. The pamphlet is completely unneccessary. They've already taken steps to make sure we see the characters by putting their movie themes into the background music, so we'll definetly know that they're there without having to use a ride guide.
