So I went there at about 12:00 and the crowds were light. On Monday it was my birthday and again light crowds. It was nice. We rode POTC a few times. On Tuesday it was my mom's birthday. The crowds started to come back. On Wednesday we went into disneyland for a few hours before making the drive back to Phoenix. It was really crowded. At about 11 am the line for POTC went back to the stage door. This includes winding before entering under the bridge. I wanted to ride it one more time but no way was I going to wait in line. So we rode BTM the line was 20 min. I dont know how it is today, but judging from yesterday I think it will be crowded again. I was hoping they would extend hours (Sunday they went to closing at 11) but that never happened.

I have found that even a simple trip to Anytown USA, with hotels, meals and visits to the local tourist traps ends up costing the same as a DLR trip (if not more).

But it was hot, so we'd leave about lunchtime and return for evening entertainment. We were disappointed that they were only doing the Columbia pirate run Friday through Sunday since our trip was Monday-Thursday. We were also able to extend our trip one more day and had no trouble adding another day to our hotel stay, even though there were no rooms available the week before for the same date (Th. 7/13). All in all, a great 40th b-day gift!

Luckily, the army is reimbursing me to ship my car out of Long Beach, so my DL trip is pratically paid for.

"Tourists" are usually coming from some distance and will probably be there long enough that they will buy multi-day Hoppers. We bought three-day hoppers in advance on the web for $150 each. At $50 per day for a hopper I thought it was a good value.
