There are only two choices either the east or west side of Soarin.

East side is closer to the plaza but it also has to deal with the longer walk into the park behind the restaurant.

The west side already has the walkway in place and it is a straight shot.

What I would suggest if I was working on this problem is this: Use the west side and take over part of the world of Disney building. The Entrance, ticket area and other needed things are inside the building and then people exit out the side onto the walkway. The walkway is then a full exit.

I know that Disney would never go for this because they could not stand to loose one dollar from store space.

If anything the best for an attraction entrance would be where the burbank icecream is with a curve queue wrapped behind taste pilot grill.

That also would cut the backstage area access.

What is now 'condor flats' would become just a restaurant, gift shop and restrooms - and nothing else.

It just doesn't make any sense.

Make the entrance look like it's some mine shaft or underground bunker (if they wante to keep the aviation test theme going) in the side of the mountian, and have the Monorail pass through it higher up. That would allow for something neat for the Monorail passengers to see (I'm picturing something along the lines of the Splash Mountian finale or Grand Canyon diorama on the DLRR) that's different than what most people get to see. It will probably never happen because it would be fairly expensive to build a mountain over the building (especially when they can just paint it green or slap some wood-esque siding on it), but it would be a neat little addition.

It might look kind of funny from outside the park, where you would be able to see the building inside the mountain (since I don't think there's enough room back there to completely cover the building), but that didn't stop them from showing everyone how Mickey's House in Toontown is buried under the hill from the parking structure...

Funny, I have always thought the same thing about the steam trains running through Tomorrowland.
