This is nothing new. They've sent out that tweet at least 5 times before, that I've seen.

So? How is that new or different? How is it different than people who have two Facebook accounts, one under their real name that is all prim and proper and the other under a pseudonym with the drunk party photos?

<<Propaganda can't have a hidden agenda? Remember not just evil empires use propganda to promote their own worth. Lets not forget the huge American propaganda machine during WWII and into ther Cold War. Those newsreels they played before the movies were not just to show what was going on in the War, they were designed to show American bravery and thusly provide a larger enlistment and sell more war bonds. Or what about having school age kids sit under their desks during bomb alerts, was that to protect them from a nuclear blast? no it was designed to enforce the idea that the USSR was evil and we need to hate them.>>
The cheerleading for America was the agenda and was not hidden as you just pointed out. America wants you to love America. Russia wants you to love Russia. The Walt Disney Company wants you to love Disney. McDonald's wants you to love McDonald's. Ford wants you to love Ford. Sony wants you to love Sony. Apple wants you to love Apple. Mom and Pop's Small Town Grocery want you to love Mom and Pop's Small Town Grocery.

Any person who is swayed by a singular person or blog that may be getting products for free to schlock is obviously going to be easily convinced. Going back to Spirit of 74's BRAND Y scenario, it is very easy to push in "BRAND Y problems" or "BRAND Y complaints" into Google and find criticisms. Fan blogs should be taken with a grain of salt as they are just that, fan blogs. If I run across an imitation "Consumer Reports" it is my responsibility to look into the credibility of some random person on the internet. The person who just believes a randomly found blog is the same person who is going to believe the salesman without question.

I think it was called Videopolis East and I believe it was a teen dance club.

I could be wrong, but I think the Disney Channel had a dance show--it showed videos of Top 40 songs and teens dancing. It was filmed in Videopolis, presumably the one in DL.

But I could be wrong, I have vague memories of that.

Henry died thinking his experiments in artificial intelligence had failed. But when the building was reopened in 1987, the automaton was alive and thriving. In fact, it directed the refurbishing of its home and designed the sophisticated computer hardware that shows itself to best advantage.

The complete and purely subjective saga of Pleasure Island is synthesized on the ersatz histerical plaques at the Island's entrance.

Pathetic but not surprising. It seems that there is a kiddie-pool level of awareness for the company's history

People who just believe blog postings are a bigger problem than them not criticizing Disney. But where is the evidence that this is happening in large numbers? That people are instantly more trusting of what they find on social media? The people who just accept the spin are going to accept it regardless of the medium in which it is delivered.

What? How does this work? Disney is a place for THEM to bring things to YOU. It's about their show, their story, their exhibition.

Disney, as much as they talk about nostalgia, isn't about it. Or yours, anyway. It's about the THEME of a simpler time or era. Not YOUR nostalgia for the place.

Maybe I'm thinking about this too hard...
