Oh my goodness, this sort of thing happens to me all the time at DLR, because most of the people are AP's, and a number of the ap's are the kinds who if they want it they want it right now.

About two weeks ago I was in line for Splash and was told to go to row two (3rd and fourth seat) a sweet couple in front of me who were visiting from europe were told to go to the first row. The guy behind me (who was told to go to row 3) wasn't having it and rushed in front of the couple to get to the front row. The couple, not speaking very good english, asked me if i could tell the cast member this. I did, and the cast member told the man that he could either go to the 3rd row or to wait for the next log for the first row. He fought back a bit, but eventually moved to the back row.

Another time I was in the queue for Space when two teenage girls asked if they could go to the first row. The cast member politely explained that the first row was being saved for a handicapped man. These kids weren't having it and when the next car puled up they rushed to the front and sat down as fast as they could. What the cast member did next was perhaps the greatest thing I have seen a cast member do. He pretended to call up to the control room and told the two kids that the ride would not move until they got out of the vehicle and waited for the next car. He was bluffing of course, because if they stopped the ride than the vehicles would get stacked up behind each other, but the teens totally bought the story and got out and apologized to the cast member.

Yet another time a couple had set up shop right on the side walk on main street for the fireworks and would not listen to reason when they were to ld that they couldn't sit on the path, finally a security officer showed up and offered to help the couple find a place to sit in the street for the fireworks, and they left, but not before cursing out the cast member who had called security.

But I have only been on the bad side of this once. I was in the Starcade and saw a guy shaking a claw machine so he could get a prize. I called security over and they told the kid to stop shaking the machine. Later I ran into the kid and he gave me a stunning vocabulary lesson, and threatened me. I called over security again and they dealt with him.

    Sincerely,
    The kid of diz

now I like that solution -- sorry mgmguy that you ran into a jerk like that- but standing your ground and doing the right thing as you did is commendable.

You also showed good restraint - I like you am pretty good size so don't get much crap from bullies like that as they like to pick on people smaller than them...but I'll bet it was tempting to haul off and belt him...

You did nothing wrong. You were being a good citizen. By not reacting to this jerks confrontation you were again correct and he just looked even worse to everyone who witnessed the incident. Although I am sure you were embarassed remember that those around you who saw the event most likely thought what a jerk he was and were impressed by how well you maintained you composure in the face of a difficult situation. In the end you showed your class and his lack of it. You should be proud of your own behavior.
I do think that rather than leave the park you should have noted the direction he went and then gone to the nearest CM and relayed the incident and requested that they call security. My wife always asks how I can let some people do some of the rude things they do without getting upset. My answer is that their behavior is not under my control and I choose to react to them in a way that is best for me. If someone takes my parking place I can get upset or I can just take one of the many other spaces available and continue my happy day. Was someone trying to skip line worth a physical confrontation? The fact that he was so upset and was blaming others for his own actions shows that he was getting what he deserved. Who wants to go through life like that? It is too short. Just walk away and feel sorry for him that this is the way he chooses to live his life.
