I really didn't find this movie offensive and I don't actually know anybody (personally, I mean) who did. I loved it and hope one day we'll all get to see it again. I think at this point if a group started campaigning for "Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs" to be renamed "Young Lady of Indiscriminate Colour and the Seven Vertically Challenged Persons", Disney might seriously consider pulling it off the shelves. They're just worried about stirring up controversy, but I think they've just created a bigger deal about it by not making it available.

(That said, I really like that merchandise!)

My friends and I didn't find the film offensive, although one of them mentioned how it shows happy slaves. I told him that it was supposed to take place AFTER the Civil War.

Umm. That would probably be a copyright violation. If you were making multiple copies, the Disney police would probably go after you. :(

Maybe Disney will remake Song of the South someday.. they could make Uncle Remus, Jewish or Asian or maybe even a Christian Republican... Whatever color, race or religion Uncle Remus is or could be, how could anyone not love him and his stories... I want an Uncle Remus....

    Release the film.

Btw, Tall... shouldn't you be at Wal-Mart waiting for Season 1 of Mama's Family?

When I rode Splash for the first time in either '91 or '92, I was a young teen, I always thought it would have been appropriate if they had an AA of Uncle Remus in the waiting queue or that first mill where the owl is. Little did I know what sparks that would cause. :)

The last time a checked you had to be careful about the zoning. Most of what I saw wouldn't play in US DVD players. Besides that and most of them bootlegs. I have my copy that a friend copied from his lazer disc to DVD. Probably not legal, but the best I can do until it gets released...if ever.
