The most recent trip I had plans to get the gold ears for sure since it's the 50th. But since it was our honeymoon we had planned on getting the bride and groom ones as well. Unfortunately DH's head was too fat for the groom ones so we had to improvise. So we each found a baseball hat that we liked (mine in light khaki and his in black) and got Bride and Groom embroidered on the back of them at the place in the front of the park. I am not really a baseball hat person but just from wearing that around the park I got totally sold on hats in the park. Definitely kept my hair out of my face and the sun out of my eyes. We did finally get the gold ears, but only on the very last day, right before we left so we never wore them in the park. Though, I probably wouldn't just because I would be too worried about losing them. Though, we also bought one of the little gold mickey ear keychains (the ones with the actual felt hat and plastic ears). We got home, immediately took off the keychain and put them on our cat. Cutest thing ever! >

I did buy a pair of gold ears though, and I actually did wear my July 17th ears for that one special day. Heck, I was so exhausted I guess I didn't care how I looked. They're also a pain to keep on, fortunately there were people in line behind us at DCA who were freely giving out bobby pins to help keep ears in place. Now my VMK ears, that's another story. Those things never leave my character's head! I love 'em!

LillyBelle and I are tossing around the idea of hitting the park this weekend and renewing her AP. Odds are good that I won't be getting ears if we do. Getting slightly off-subject, I have been away from this site for far too long, especially in light of all the fun I had with you wonderful folks last year. Gonna be posting here a lot more. LP'ers rock!!

This time, when we go , if they have any more of the good embroidery machines(real old style), I will get them new ears. I also realized that I can just take out the elastic strings from their old "infant" ears and push through the new ears rather than having to sew! Dh always wears his "sun" bucket type Mickey Hat that he had embroidered with "Dad"-lol. I think they all look so funny-I don't wear ears or a hat and spend the whole time secretly smiling about them and how silly they look-it just tickles me-lol. Anyone know if the machines have all been replaced yet? If not, where are the old ones? Thanks in advance!

I usually don't wear the ears though, mostly just au natural or sometimes my mad hatter hat. BTW YourPalEd, thanks for the description of the cupcakes, a fond memory. I still remember grabbing like four of those god awful things and taking a great big bite then wishing I hadn't, what a waste of free cupcakes. Argggh.

It's a shame they're going with the computerized embroidery machines.

I also have too many other Disney hats and crowns, but like I said, they do not look good on me, so I rarely wear them. I did make my boyfriend get golden ears and we took a few pictures in them in the park. In fact, that was the only time they looked good on me because I had my hair down, which is a very impractical hat wearing style for me.
