Someone writes about a Jim Hill column from three years ago and it is 'News and Rumor' worthy ... but if someone posts about current cutbacks in hours and entertainment ... or even (not me) someone posting about a WDW CM being arrested after a big story in the O-Sentinel ... those things don't qualify as 'News' ... good thing I know nothing about that business! <<I sure wish you could talk TDLFAN into returning. He always kept LP jumping. Tell him I'll join his campaign to ban children from WDW if he comes back.>> I have tried, and I do miss him as well. He just feels very comfortable posting on Micechat, where he does share his great pics and international park trip reports. I understand the need to get away ... I really enjoyed staying away from all the sites last summer. But it would be nice to see TDLFAN here with his amazing perspective ... only Leemac has likewise and he doesn't post very often at all either.

And while I am very open to arguing about my opinions, when you can spend hours trying to get people to accept facts it does grown tiresome. There are some very intelligent, well-connected people over there ... but they also can be drowned out by kids who like the power of the Internet.

I can make one post on something I believe is pretty innocuous and I can return four hours later and there are 120 new posts. To get back to the orginal topic, and since it is Merfie's thread, you won't find 1,000-post threads here on what may or may not be happening on SSE. You'll find news ... and maybe a well-founded rumor and it will get some action and then people will move on ... there I constantly feel like saying 'nothing to see here ... the bodies have all been carted off ... you can press the gas pedal and move on.' And while an edit function may be nice, what's nicer to me is no silly smileys, no avatars, no huge posts filled with pics, no links to vacation countdowns etc ... What you have here is just quality Disney discussion forums. This truly is the best site out there, run by quality people, with some terrific talk ... Hey, Doobie ... wanna buy me dinner at Jiko? ;-)

Haven't we been able to do that since the 1800's? Back in the olden days they called it "taking a picture".
