Naturally, Disney was sued. I understand CYA in business, but at some point it's just overkill. If the same idiots do the same stupid thing, there'll be plenty of lawyers willing to sue Disney anyway.

The same company that built such smooth rides as Space Mountain and Matterhorn Bobsleds. ;-)

Originally Posted By twirlnhurl More people willing to ride + lines 50%longer (due to longer dispatch intervals caused by the seat belts) = bad all around. Seat belts that aren't electric (like Tower of Terror) will not hold people who WANT to get out of the attraction mid-ride. Since the only way one's bottom can leave the seat on Splash Mountain is if they want to get out, the ride is not any safer. Also, people who are afraid of Splash Mountain rarely would have the opportunity to see the seat belts, so that perceived benefit doesn't really exist. At the end of the day, adding seat belts to Splash Mountain would not influence people's decision to ride, it will not make the ride safer, and it will make the line longer.

When will spaceship earth be closed?

Which stems from my fiance being deathly afraid of that last drop being that she feels she is falling out, and the fact that I hate to ride alone. So completely selfish reason on my part.

My cousin (who loves Rockn' Rollercoaster) will refuse to ride Splash Mountain after his first ride because that wonderful feeling of weightlessness on the drop.
