As it happens, the pic was taken across the water from California Screamin, and the car was upside down! Also had the best fried cheese thingy ever at the big hot dog place. It turned out to be our "All Cheese All Day" Monte Cristo's for lunch and fried cheese on a stick for dinner, lol!

Screamed like a little girl. Went back the same evening and went on the Florida tower many times during my WDW vacation a year later and both are faves. Most importantly, though, was when I first went on Soarin' in 2001. My dad had always taken my sister and I to DL and though he appreciated all the magic, he never had the one attraction everybody has as "the one ride I must ride or else"-type ride. He has always been fascinated by aviation and how it led to space aviation. So when DCA opened and he had heard about Soarin', he was anxious to get on it. From the moment he walked into Condor Flats to the point where we went on to other parts of DCA, he was thorougly thrilled. He had found his "I gotta ride this!" attraction that everybody has when they go to a Disney park. He kept raving about it all day and to this day, even if we're deep in the heart of DL or at DtD, we will go out of our way to ride Soarin'. His enjoyment of Soarin' has spilled over into my Disney fandom and I am reminded of him every time I begin walking into Condor Flats.

Apparently the guy inside Sully didn't realize she'd grabbed him again, as he began walking with this little girl glommed on to his leg! He only walked a couple of steps before he realized he had a "passenger" but it was adorable, and luckily my older daughter got a great shot of it with the niece up in the air on his leg.

Of course we had to ride it two more times immediately after that.

Coming from another big Disney fan (and I think that's the first time I've ever heard her say something like that), it just shows that even if there isn't a ton of theming, the attractions can still be a ton of fun.

I love the song California Dreamin', and when I walked in and heard the music, I just started bopping away. This was my first visit to DCA. Now I'm not much to dance and sing and draw attention to myself in public, but it's something I always do at Disneyland (not obnoxiously so, but I'll skip along and hum "in the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room' or something to myself because I just get so excited) and I was so pleased to see I did the same in DCA! Another moment ... when I went on the Orange Stinger for the first time. Now, I'm weird and I LOVE wave swings. Anyway, Brother Bear had just come out and I had "Tell Everybody I'm on my way" in my head. I just closed my eyes and held my arms out to each side, with that song playing in my head and I felt so carefree.

I just kept thinking this whole cage is going to fly off and we will drowned because we can't get it opened. I said I would never ride it again and I have ridden it just about every time we've been there and every time I say I will never ride it again!
